Yanks are getting their kicks in right here, pal. Classic as Something is, over here it’d be 95-5 in favo(u)r of BOC. Reaper is beloved as well it should be. What do you expect when the American equivalent of Python’s Dead Parrot sketch is based on this song? :)
It's just one of those classics that I don't get I'm afraid.
I love the concept, pointlessness of fearing death, the melody and of course the cow bell. but not sure I get much more from it. can't love em all!

Both great songs. In this case though it has to be BOC. It is the perfect rock single. George is my favourite Beatle by a margin and Something is one of his best. Shame to choose really.

Not precisely sure what about this song is pretentious, but a band that wrote "Godzilla" and "Joan Crawford" -- and made something of both topics -- isn't.Beatles for me over that pretentious yank stuff.

Truly. I'll also note the band name itself is a joke (note the umlaut over "Oyster") and they once titled a record Cultosaurus Erectus (with another pointless umlaut over the o). I personally think they're pretty underrated. Thought of as metal but all their best tunes are essentially rock/pop songs IMO. In fact I'm listening to Fire of Unknown Origin right now and sounds freakin' great.He’s a strange one.
