Agree with the comments about early v late James, sort of surprised BoF has made it as deep as it has.

I think I know how this next one will go but I'm hoping for an entertaining bit of aggro along the way.

On the basis the lastest birthday present purchased in our house was actually a cowbell I'll be siding with our 'murican cousins on this, making an assumption about which way they'll go of course. Not even Fripp will persuade me otherwise.

What an absolute Queen woman of a round. I love both Songs but BOC shades it for me. There are better Bowie songs but dont fear the reaper is the perfect rock song from every aspect.

It's only the studio version of Heroes for me. The live versions just show what an average song it is.
It's the production and sound techniques they used on the album that made Heroes what it is. Those vocal effects are never achieved live.
Still, I'm voting for it. Just not the live versions.

Mid to late 80’s I’d argue that Manchester was home to the best bands in the world at that time. The Smiths, New Order, The Fall, James all in their pomp.

Never liked that BOC song, so gives the vote to Bowie, despite not really liking that one.

Probably should vote for Heroes anyway, as parents-in-law were extras in the Steve Coogan film The Parole Officer and had to dance to that song at the end. It's still losing the next round though.
