The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Only posters with just the one account allowed.
Nobody with multiple burner accounts :-)
Surely no one on here has multiple accounts?
I checked with my other 14 user names and none of them knew anyone who had more than one account....

I think there should be plenty of Smiths songs allowed.

I mean, given how many got smacked down in the last cup, the big songs by talented artists should have a chance to compete against League Two opposition at home sometimes. :)

One man's classic is another man's self pitying, short arse megalomaniacal, plagerising, folk rock tosh. At least Morrissey wears his rampant narcissism on his sleeve :-)

Anyway, how about a rule that any band with a City fan in it, who doesn't have the surname Gallagher, automatically gets 5 votes extra. With a bonus of an extra 5 votes if said fan has been known to play a Jaguar or two :-)

If we did that we'd have to penalis(z)e rags too and I don't want any extra baggage for all the Bernie Sumner/Albrecht tunes I expect to pick.

At least Ian C and Gretton were blues, may they RIP.

Hmmm that's true, and the late Terry Hall too. I didn't think that one through did I ? Maybe there could be a star chamber who adjudicate on 'acceptable rags' who don't incur the penalty.

(Cue someone pointing out acceptable rag is an oxymoron).
