Annoyed I didnt put £ on Garcia to beat Cheeseman now (I had 8/1 for the stoppage) a lot of knowledgeable lads told me this would be Cheesemans Ritson/Patera moment and they were proved correct. The biggest shame is we dont get to see the Fowler fight anytime soon.
Ritson had a bit of an excuse that his kidney was badly damaged in the first couple of rounds which caused him a lot of trouble. Be interesting to see how he gets on in his next couple of fights.
Cheeseman was just outclassed from minute one to the very end. Garcia might end up being world level but on that performance Cheeseman will do well to win a european belt.
Inrterestingly, last week I said to my wife I'd love to open a boxing club here in Valencia because there's nothing here. I presumed because of the south Americans there'd be some kind of interest but when I looked it up boxing is frowned upon here as being mafia run and too brutal. There is interest in mma etc though. So any fighter that comes out of here has done very well for themselves. Garcia looks brilliant, matchroom might even try to grab him after that.
AJ v Miller confirmed NY June 1st. Hardly wets the appetite, no doubt Sky will charge 20 sheets for the privelige.
