The Boxing thread

Crawford v Brook in the early hrs, definitely gone under the radar since brooks parting with Hatchroom...

You have to give brook his credit, although coming up short, which I also think he will again tonight, he has put himself out there against the very best; Porter, GGG, Spence and now Crawford...

Crawford to win inside 8 by tko

If Brook loses in any way more more dignifying than a nut shot, then technically he wins.

Not the match, but he gets to laugh at Khan for being less pathetic than he was, which is the real goal of the fight.

All building up for Khan v Brook in 2037.

Boxing and it's PPV obsession has killed the sport imo. No one fights each other anymore and Hearn's to blame. They had it perfect when Sky had the monopoly. The odd genuine PPV fight wasn't an issue, now it's turgid undercards if there is a decent headliner on PPV. Hearn has also diluted the integrity of the sport with his dangerous matchups where he moves fighters up the weights and down the weights for one reason. Money. I hope there isn't a tragedy around the corner.

In general I don't disagree with the PPV point but I think tonight is about £11.99 on Premier Sport which is a lot better than it has been.............

I'm actually looking forward to this one, not staying up, I'll get up early. 5am they reckon it will start UK time. Fully expect a Crawford win but it will be good while it lasts

The fight tonight is on ESPN in the states no PPV so there will be plenty of unchecked streams
Tonight's fights may be free, but once you enjoy watching someone they will be on ppv. You will also have to listen to that smarmy c### Eddie Hearn telling you how good a value for money the show will be. Fuck em.

I have no issue with PPV if it's worth it, like someone who has had a good career and got to the top, they deserve the reward for the hard work IMO and 20 quid on a night of boxing saved me money when otherwise I would've been in the pub anyway, well maybe pre 2020 haha.

It's when it's guys who aren't at world level yet, that takes the pi55

Disagree, i pay my sky sports subscription to watch them come through the ranks, then get told to pay another £20/£25 to watch them when they move up the ranks. Imo just don't show them at all if thats the case.

I'm pretty annoyed at the continued insistence that Gutierrez had to retire (or should be pulled out) - don't get me wrong I don't want to see anyone really hurt in the ring, however she was well out of her depth and I imagine boxing the distance with someone like Taylor will do her the world of good from an experience and confidence point of view.

Fair play to her.

I like listening to Macklin (accent aside), but thought he was wrong tonight..........
