Great fight, i won't say more til later.
Santa Cruz by 2 rounds for me, good fight, there will be a third methinks.
A real good fight again on a second watch. Some of the punches thrown was something else Leos jab won the fight. Crazy as it may seem. I also think some of the rounds Leo nicking it in the last few seconds after Carl doing generally well in those rounds. Boxing wise for Carl we just didnt see his jab and combinations. A poor night for his jab it was the worst I seen it in a long time he will come good and I think any rematch will happen in the US and I wouldnt be shocked if it is Vegas again sadly. Carl will do well to get it outside of Vegas but ideally they would do it on somewhere else other than Vegas or Boston. They could well fight anywhere in the US after the first 2 fights and get a very good crowd. Its always great to see fights like that at times in boxing. Hopefully both guys got well paid and the same for the 3rd fight too. Frampton will have a lot of offers stateside after those 2 fights with Santa Cruz in the future so seeing him fighting again in Ireland or the UK might be a while off sadly.
I know its just a shame that these big American or Mexican fighters just wont fight outside America or Mexico. Shame really a lot of British and Irish fighter and European fighters in general have all been slated for not travelling to the US to take the big fights. Yet it is strange to see a American fighter coming over to Europe to win the title or to fight in the big fights over this side of the world. So they will always have that advantage of fighting in the US over the British or Irish fighters. Look at some of the travelling Brits if they dont win the rounds big against a Vegas based fighter they rarely get the close rounds. Can anyone remember the last big American champion to fight in Europe or the UK for a big World title fight. I remember Jeff Lacy v Joe Calzaghe fight happening in the UK. Timothy Bradley beat Junior Witter in a fight in the UK those are the 2 that stick out for me. Always whenever the bigger UK champions got the chance to fight those big fights against the Americans the majority where always in the US. Even most of Naz and Ricky Hattons big fights were all in the US against the elite fighters. Never 1 in the UK madness.
