Just gonna say I was drunk while watching this and will watch again. But I was shocked at Chris Mannix(or whatever his name is) from DAZN's scorecard when it was shown around round 7(he had Sorrano up 6 rounds to 1). To me, with the sound off, it looked as though Katie took the first 3-4 rounds. Sorrano was throwing lots but Katie was taking most of those on the gloves then coming back with scoring punches, she had better control of distance and look the more comfortable fighter. Then obviously Sarrano dominated the middle rounds after hurting her and she looked really good in those rounds but you can't judge other rounds based off that. I start each round viewing it as if it was a clean slate, that's what judges are supposed to do. Katie recovered though and the last rounds seemed close. The way DAZN was calling it(from what little I did see and hear of their scores and such) I was expecting a Sorrano decision. I'm glad I watched with the sound off but since I'm going against the grain I will have to watch it again to be sure. Draw seemed fairest result, nobody dominated that fight overall though for me. People might be tempted to judge it on the middle rounds where the most damage was dished out but she couldn't get her out of there ultimately(Katie is too battle hardened). I do agree Katie was throwing arm punches towards the end but Sorrano' didn't look comfy either(especially in the corner)... those last rounds when I watch them back will decide it for me.
Great fight anyway, glad I sided with this match up from the two main events tonight.

To dethrone a world champion you have to either knock him/her out or at least completely dominate. It's always been so..yes Katie has got a few close calls gone her way but that comes with being champion.It is called protecting your big name fighter and this is exactly the reason I don’t watch Katie Taylor because she is the new canelo who will always get the decision. Last Time at the garden she she was lucky as well .

Cmon she got beat by persoon at the garden and everyone knew it . The Taylor fight was close. I would of given it to Katie by 2 rounds at most. Could see it scored in either fighters way too. It depends on the judges ringside what there looking for. It was a good win for Katie and hopefully if she and Seranno fight again would be great to see that happening in Dublin. Katie gets a lot of stick but she hasnt once boxed in Ireland since turning pro. Which is crazy as its a no brainer for most Katie could well get the biggest attendance to a boxing fight by a female boxer if she gets the big Croke Park stadium or Lansdowne Road. She could easy fill it by herself with a shit undercard as her cross over is so big in Ireland. Hearn should be sorting this for September if possible.
As for the other fight on Sky Shakur Stevenson wow he dominated the fight looked so classy if and when he moves up in weight I say he could well have some great fights in that division. 1 more fight in Super Featherweight then step him up to Lightweight next year.

I watched the highlights of each round today. It really could have gone either way but I agree with the poster who stated that to take a title off a reigning champion you really can’t have any doubt. Boxing in general is always about the money, so it is true that they will not kill the cash cow.
But that was a fabulous boxing spectacle. Not just a great women’s fight but a truly great fight in its own right.
Round 5 is the talk because Serrano definitely shook Katie. She is a big puncher. But she is also a tough lady, she took a lot of big hits from Katie in several of the other rounds and not only didn’t step backwards but relentlessly came forward for more.

Katie would sell out Croke on her own, but personally I have doubts that they will get the venue for September. At that stage you are into the All Ireland finals of both football and hurling.
Also professional boxing scandals are under close scrutiny internationally and by the Irish government because of the involvement of the Kinahan crime cartel in promotions. Getting a license for the fight might prove difficult.
Imagine getting Katie and Amanda on as main event and having Kellie Harrington on the undercard. You’d sellout Croke Park ten times over. Kellie hasn’t gone pro though and doubt she will.

The only stumbling block is Garth Brooks he has 2 weekends with 5 shows on in Croker for September as it is. So it will be a big ask for the tennants to say yes. But saying that she is maybe 1 of most known sports stars in Ireland and seems a loveable person too so she might get it if they get the talks going asap. 1 night wont be too much of a hassle to tennants.I watched the highlights of each round today. They've already had Ed Sheeran there a few weeks back.
However, a lot of the businesses around there are all for it as they see events in Croker as a way of recouping the losses from the Covid lockdowns.
I don’t doubt Katie would sell it out. It may well be a new record attendance. Put Harrington on as well and it would be as no brainer.
She’s from Portland Row down beside Croke Park/close enough. Nobody down there would object. They’d love it.

Whyte complain Fury shoved him over and it was his head hitting the canvas that knocked him out and he wants a rematch. He was well beaten and running on empty when he was knocked out in my opinion. Fury pushing him actually was a merciful act. He could have unleashed another couple of blows on him before he hit the canvas instead of shoving him away

So its a no brainer for it to happen. The card could also include Jake Paul v Connor McGregor lol I just wouldnt put it by either of them to try and get on the card.
