Accidentally happened on this fight in a pub on my way home from a gig… what a fucking joke. Boxing little better than the WWF these days if that is a big money fight. Don’t blame Fury at all though for taking the money, would do the same myself in a heart beat

They know it's a joke but the sport is dying and the youtubers/reality tv stars have money and millions of fans so they look past it.

If people are fucking stupid enough to pay to watch that shit more fool them. Both of them are just making money from reality tv or you tube fans who don’t give a flying fuck about the art of boxing. Who can blame them as neither of these would do anything against world class opponents and the hype before this bout was ridiculous considering their quality

So let me get this right, two no marks who are only famous for social media shit had a fight and people actually paid to tune in?

The quality of the fight was poor, as expected.
The sense of occasion was misplaced - this was not elite sport.
I watched it, so I am guilty of feeding the beast.

I am glad that Tommy won - at least he represents boxing. He is a long way short though and how much would you really want to get beaten up when you have millions in the bank, a happy family life, a nice place to live and more and more rolling in just for a few family snaps on social media?
 
About time this barbaric so called sport was phased out. A knock on the head in any other sport is considered dangerous but put 2 men in a ring and goad them to batter each other is fine.
 
I had access to this crap but didn’t even consider switching it on.
It’s bollocks conceived by shysters for the attention of feeble minded knuckle draggers and voyeurs.
It‘s loosely referred to as boxing and the combatants are properly licensed but there the similarities end.
The rematch clause when no titles are on the line gives it away as a cash grab and those involved will cream the mugs for every penny they can get.
The organisers have done a smart job in serving up this shit butty though. It’s drummed up a lot of interest and moved this thread on a lot more than a genuinely classy proper fight between say Bivol and Beterbiev would have done, sadly.
 
I watched it, was awful.
Tommy got put over by a jab from a you tuber, so wasn't exactly the Rocky Balboa speech inducing moment that he milked it for afterwards.

Hopefully this is the end of you tube boxing now, and we can get back to the silky moves of the pros like Whyte and Chisora.

It's unbelievable mate, it actually made the main page of the bbc news. A decent fighter would beat these 2 one after the other, inside 3 rounds max.

What I don't get is why major boxing councils and broadcasters backed it ? Both are not boxers and just internet and TV celebrities, so why let them cross over to the sport, they have enough power to show it on YouTube or a major internet company to sell pay per views, it is just an entertainment showcase and nothing else,

both are a million miles from calling themselves boxers ? Even Tommy Fury with family ties to the sport is not a boxer,
I think the boxing councils should really sit down and sort this out once and for all, distance themselves from it 100% and don't back any more showcase entertainment fights,
 
Let's transpose this farce to another one-on-one sport...would you get the LTA to sanction this as a proper tennis match?..alongside the Mayweather debacle this weekend where Pretty boy Floyd beat up some sort of cartoon character boxing needs no enemies...it is killing itself.

not sure if Ronaldo and all the other freeloaders would be grinning like idiots if one of these 'fighters' was badly hurt..
