The Boxing thread

Cheers, wasn’t expecting that tbh.
Was hoping he would be the next great fighter to come out of Mcr.
Hopefully just a blip.

Was surprised myself. Clark just came coming forward. Barratt tried to keep boxing but didn’t really have an answer and it was the right decision really. One judge had it all square but the other two had Clark by 5 rounds. Bit wide that but unfortunately it was the right decision.

Watched some of the NxtGen ON sky and Lewis Ritson was very eye catching in winning against Joe Murray. The lad reminds me a bit of Ricky Hatton loved his work to Murrays body and once Murray was hurt he jumped on him big time. I honestly feel if they can bring him on he could well go far in the lightweights in the UK. Only 24 and he will go on to the next level if he keeps going the way he is.

This weekend looking forward to see what Brook has left if he can get motivated again. He is working well in the gym with Jason Quigley. The Yafai v McDonnald looks like the pick of the fights on the card. Should be a good fight that. Then the US for Wilder later that night too. Should be a good fight night.

Yeah wouldnt be shocked to see Kovalev v Bivol in a fight before the year is out. I was hoping that Sky would show that over Wilder fight.
Its on boxnation if you have it. Sky showing Wilder to build the Joshua or Whyte fight I imagine.

Just the six shows on telly this weekend then, WBS lionhearts on friday, card from South Africa on saturday afternoon and the Kovalev card all on boxnation.

Josh Taylor on Five on saturday night, at the same time sky have got Brook vs Rabchenko and then of course the Wilder card. Great stuff.

Light-heavy is a really strong division at the minute. Would be great if they could get a WBSS style tournament at the weight.

Imagine they could get 4-5 of this lot involved - Kovalev, Stevenson, Beterbiev, Jack, Alvarez, Bivol, Barrera, Smith Jnr.

Yeah it is a weekend for boxing. Also the new Ringside on Sky was on too. Not too sure if i like it or not some parts are ok i like them going around the gyms and hopefully it just gets better and better as it goes along.
I will watch the Brook card hopefully and the Wilder fight if i can stay up all night.

I wouldnt be shocked if they do another Ali competition again the 1s they are doing at the moment have been good. Its a shame ITV got it and put most of the fights on PPV involving UK fighters. The wrong way to do it. I would of loved them to have them all on free to air tv. With how well it has done i do wonder if Sky will try and get the rights for a second series of it or BT/Boxnation.
I think to get the likes of Super Welterweight would bee a great division to do. Kel Brook , Liam Smith , Erislandy Lara , Jermell Charlo , Jarrett Hurd , and the winner of Sulecki v Daniel Jaccobs. Saying all that Lara v Hurd is happening I think next month would be great to see the rest getting involved in it too.

Ortiz 6th round @25/1 is my bet.
