The Boxing thread

I dont know what to think of the build up to the AJ V Parker fight. Honestly dont know if AJ is over looking Parker or not. Something isnt there for me which is a bit of a worry. Parker looked poor in his last 2 fights and is a lot better than that. Going in as a underdog in the build up to the fight he looks cool and calm and not overly worried about what has gone on in the build up. While AJ I just cant put my finger on it. Saying that for Parker to win he needs to KO AJ . AJ will not loose on the scorecards no chance of that happening. No matter how he does it Parker to win a round he will have to be dominant from start to finish to get that round any close rounds will go to AJ. I dont know what to predict for the fight but for me theres just something not clicking for me with AJ and I just think Parker is too calm and relaxed going into it and will thrive on fight night. I think it goes the later rounds either a late AJ KO or AJ Split decision win. Parker will casue AJ a lot of problems. Seen 14/1 for a Parker ko win worth a small bet with heavyweight fights you just never know what will happen.

AJ seems more focused for this fight, think he'll look leaner than previous fights. Parker seems to get lazy around the middle rnds and that's when i think Joshua step on him. Parkers team have questioned AJs mental strength but think he proved that against Klitschko. Should be a decent scrap.

I think the Parker camp has got under the skin of Joshua a bit. He looks serious rather than relaxed but that's nothing to worry about on fight night. He'll come in half a stone lighter and that will make a big difference. Parker is gonna be game and quickish but Joshua is too strong, too big, bigger reach and he'll win. The odds are ridiculous though. Think it's between 66-80/1 for each round for Parker to knock out Joshua. Stick a tenner on each round from the 7th if you fancy it.

AJ at 1/9 on with the bookies is ridiculous.
Parker at 7/1 is a bit of value.
At those odds Joshua should make short order of him.
However, I’m not so sure. Parker has had more fights / experience
He has done more 12 round fights and is also unbeaten. His style
is also favourable over AJ. Joshua has a significant reach advantage
which could be crucial. If it goes beyond 6 rounds then anything could
happen. At the odds given there is only one bet.
I’ve had a decent tickle on Parker.

No value in a losing bet ;-)

People talk a lot about AJs win over Klitschko he got dropped and showed heart to get up and win the fight. We have also seen him get wobbled by Dillian White. I just think Parker is the best opponent AJ has boxed so far. And the same goes for Parker that AJ is his best opponent he has faced too. What i will give Parker is when he has a fighter going he steps on the gas and gets rid of them. AJ never boxed 12 rounds and i think Parker is the guy to make him do it. Parker might be quicker and its how AJ gets to grips with him and figure him out will show what he is all about.

Joshua weighed in at 17st 4 which is a much better weight for him, although still 30 odd hours to go. Should improve his speed and stamina.

I reckon this is gonna be another one of those that the hype is bigger than the fight. Think the weight of AJ negates Parker's best chance as he'll be a little bit quicker and won't be the sitting duck for that Parker overhand uppercut. Think AJ dominates and ko's him between 4-7 rounds.
