The Boxing thread

Broner has about 8 wks to shift some weight if he's going to make welter. Made a prick of himself again in the press conference.

Still plenty of tickets for Wilder & Fury. Should of had it in Brooklyn if not in the UK.

Fair play to Mikey he's been chasing this fight since april. As good as MG is, Spence should have enough. Would like to see Garcia fight Loma and Spence in with Crawford.

6am it starts on Sunday. Ffs. Had a sesh planned thinking it’d be 3am or close. Six?!!!
Fuck. That.
Vegas fights mate, American Western Coast, always between 5:30 and 6:00 for the main event. I always just turn the phone off before bed and watch them in the morning.
Never bothered staying up for a US fight unless it was in MSG, bar once for McGregor v Aldo, which just reminded me why I don't stay up (13 second knockout).

Nah, he doesn't hit hard enough to faze Wilder and sooner or later Wilder lands a couple and knocks him out, he's not going to be ring sharp enough to try to hold out for a points win.
This is where i thought if he does have a chance it is this method. The kind of suffocating frustrating boxing that annoys fans, at least for a few rounds until Wilders fizz has fuzzled. Wilder seems more of a street fighter who a savvy boxer will take advantage of. I have not seen enough of him to judge though really, nor have i Fury for that matter.

I am just going to enjoy the fight since i am a casual fan and leave the prediction stuff to the rest of you who know your onions. It is a shame it is in L.A, the ring walk is going to end up at something silly like 6am gmt. Why can't they just use MSG for stuff like this. If it was two American boxers i could understand or is it simply down to event organizers going with who offers them the most cash?

The plan he used against Klitschko won't work here as Wilder knows his own power and will quite happily take a few to land a few.

Don't know why they don't use MSG anymore, better venue than anything in Vegas and you would think more PPV revenue from Europe.

Wilder's head has gone. Lost it at the press conference and nearly kicked off with Radio Raheem. Fury's biggest strength might just be the ability to get under the skin of his opponent and make them do things they wouldn't ordinarily do. I can see Wilder going all out in the first found rounds then we'll see from there.

Doesn't matter whether he loses the head, he's a brawler and a puncher not a boxer, that's where Fury's strategy won't make a difference.

So has Fury got a chance?

I cant see it
If by some miracle he doesn't have ring rust (with only 2 poor opponent victories under his belt) and the lay off and weight hasn't effected him (another massive if) then yes. Both unauthodox fighters so difficult to spar for.

He has a chance as long as he can box for the 12 rounds and still has his footwork.

Some big ifs there......
