The Boxing thread

Jake Paul should be ashamed, but he won’t be.
He certainly should be embarrassed.
Tyson come out of it with some credit but his legs have gone and he shouldn’t have been in there.
How the boxing board allowed that to happen with state Tyson’s is in is quite frankly fucking appalling.
Shows what a pathetic state boxing is in. Shame on me for adding to the viewing figures for this. Paul made $40m for this. Netflix probably make 3x that. What a joke.

Real fighters are out there earning peanuts but displaying real skills. Sad state.

Hopefully as it was such a wash out they won’t be able to hype these gimmick fights again - then again, we are now in a Trump YouTube social media world. So who knows.

Embarrassing for the sport. I know it wasn't a real bout but the sport is fast becoming a joke.
Completely agree. And it is important that football remains strong as a sport, as Middle East, Far East and North America seem to treat sport as entertainment. We cannot let it be consumed.

That’s why I watch MMA these days.
Boxing is a joke, any good fights never happen cos they all dodge each other and cry about money.
They should just make them fight.

This is at least the third time they've done it and every time the actual boxing has been turgid shit where it's obvious from the start no-one is going to connect with a decent shot at any point. The amateur because he's not good enough, and the professional because he's been instructed not to.

And yet people are still watching.
