The Boxing thread

Looked like Eubank murdered himself on the scales. He looked terrible in there, slow, frail, no power no aggression. The commentators were giving Benn a lot of credit but anyone decent would have got that version of Eubank out of there inside the distance. Poor fight, disappointing after the first which was a really fun wild brawl.
Yet one judge (Latham) had it even after the eighth. What the fuck was he watching?

Did anybody really think Eubank Jr would win tonight ? 100% he took the money and will again when Benn fails at 147 or 154, Benn will fight 2 times early next year, leaving the door open for another Eubank Jr later on in the year.

I even think Eubank Jr didn't do the hard yards in the training camp and this is why the first date was moved to give him more time, but why not take the money on offer? I would dance around for 12 rounds for £10million

Benn is not a good boxer and when he comes up against the best at the weights, he will resort to type and swing at all costs and get picked off, Last night, he was made to look good by a very old and weak Eubank Jr that was there only to dance and make it look like a fight. The crowd finally woke up to the fact that they had been done and sold down the river by BOOING after the 4th round,

The comms was absolutely insufferable. Desperate to bull up Benns performance as some kind of masterclass. Adam Smith has covered boxing at all levels so so many years or expect him to have the nous to call that for what it was last night.

He must be getting paid a fortune for this shit.

Mark Kaylor boxed in a golden age for British boxing. He always gave value for money and was a tremendous boxer, unlike a lot of today’s fighters. RIP Mark.
I remember going down to London '84 , Wembley Pool to watch Kaylor v Sibson, with my brother. Didn't really support either, but we went for a few pints in the old boozer near the West Ham ground, ( The Boleyn? and hooked up with a bunch of hammers, so it was all Kaylor after that...great day out. IMO the Kaylor/Christie/ Sibson/Graham era for MWts was just as exiting as the Benn/Collins/Calzaghe/Eubank which followed,..RIP Mark Kaylor.

I’ll have to watch this out of sheer, morbid curiosity. The boxing equivalent of rubber-necking.

In theory, if he’s taking this seriously, Joshua could severely damage this guy. My spider senses are tingling though and it’s got ‘fix’ written all over it.

Fix or simply won't go ahead. Absolute joke of a fight. Greed. AJ knows he's finished in the professional game tho.
