The Boxing thread

I'm going for Haye in this one, purely because of his speed and he's got the power to match.

Wlad is so rigid, and readable it's untrue...jab, jab, cross...jab, jab...jab, cross...jab...jab, cross, hold

I also doubt he can take a big, big punch. Same goes for Haye, but if he keeps his hands up and get's his head movement right then he should be able to read most of what Wlad will throw at him.

Wlad is used to big lumps so stumbling around the ring with him and see who has the hardest punch, Haye is a different story altogether and it will be interesting to see how he copes with his movement and speed.

I'll go for a Haye knockout round 9, he definitely needs a knockout though, no chance of winnings on the cards

Wlad will dominate Haye, said it from day 1. This is like the Hatton/Mayweather build up all over again.

The guy is all hype and a punchers chance is all he has. 99 times out of 100 Wlad wins this fight.

It wont be a great fight if I am honest. Wlad is too defensive because of his chin. People say that Haye is chinny well so is Wlad. Wlad knows all about Hayes power and this is what will make him stick to his put his jab there in Hayes face as much as he can. Hayes movement will be key. Wlad is used to fighting bigger men whos movement isnt great. Haye will be like him fighting a light heavyweight movement and speed could well be Wlads downfall.
If Haye leaves his left hand low as usual then Wlad will tee off on him at will any time he gets close. Wlad has a better chance of taking Haye's best shots than the other way round imo. I have Wlad winning by KO in the mid rounds.

You have to take into account that Haye is so much faster than other heavyweights and actually has great head movement. He will fight Wlad how he did Valuev although not so much on the back foot. Adam Booth is a great trainer and will have a fight plan mapped out for Haye

So's a pigeon, but it doesn't mean that it can knockout Wlad.

*I know fuck all about boxing, I just wanted to make a joke :(

I disagree with the part about his head movement being great. He does move it, but not effectively. Ruiz and Valuev landed a good number of jabs on him. Klitschko will have a field day if he gets into his stride. And he'll follow the jab with a right cross.

Thats about the height of Wlads boxing ability, jab, right cross, grab. Haye isnt gonna try and stand toe to toe with him and he took Valuevs jab which must be like being hit with a sledgehammer. I just think Booth will have a great plan laid out like he did with Valuev. Haye is never going to be in a grab and grind fight he gives up about 5-6 stone to these blokes and it would grind him down so he needs to be on his toes as Calzaghe said its like a middleweight speed with heavyweight punching

Speed kills in the heavyweight division and for the heavyweights to come back to the glory days we need shot of some of these heavyweights. I wish boxing would bring in a Super Heavyweight title. You look at any other division apart from heavyweight there could well be a stone or more difference in the 2 fighters fighting. It would be like Pacman fighting Froch. Also it bring in some good fights in the longterm. The Super Heavyweight division should be for everyone over 16 or 17 stone in my view.

A Haye win would be good for boxing, as he's unlikely to win points it'll have to be a stoppage. Now that would be the ultimate outcome for the spectator.

But I have a feeling that Wlad will have to much for him. David Haye believes his own hype, he's brash, but it's a front he uses to build himself up, he convinces himself and the public he's something he isn't.

The usual tedious stuff from Haye. But Wlad intimidated him in my opinion, and Haye's demeanour is telling me thinks. His arse went when during Wlad's mind games.

He has a hell of a lot to prove, and I think reality will hit him hard on the night, and he's beginning to realise it himself.

Wlad with a late ko.

Valuev's jab is bobbins. Wlad has the best one in Boxing. You seen their KO percentages?

Haye is quicker and I dont see Wlads handspeed or jab being too much of troble for him during the fight. While for Wlad its a totally different beast he is fighting the quickest fighter he has ever boxed who wont be a sitting duck. Add into the mix the power that Haye has. Even if Wlad controls the middle of the ring Haye has shown he cope with that and work on the outside of the bigger men. He has talked up the fight for years potentially his last fight he will want to spark Wlad out and I have a good feeling about Haye in this fight.

I'm not even seeing Haye's remarkable power at Heavyweight. He's knocked a few over the hill, in-active fighters down, several times, but, aside from the first Ruiz knock-down, i don't really remember the knockdowns having the same effect as they had at Cruiserweight.

Wlad's chins not great mind, but it's going to be hard for Haye to land anything substantial on it. I'm shocked at how many people think Haye will win this purely because he's faster. He's got a disadvantage in almost every other department, and he's fighting in Germany.

Lets be honest Haye has had 5 fights at heavyweight so far. 4 kos in 5 fights isnt too bad at heavyweight. So his power has moved up the weights and it is still going to cause all the heavyweight out there problems.

He's had 4 at heavyweight by my count and Tyson Fury would probably KO the 3 guys Haye has, so no big achievement.

He had the Bonin fight before he beat Mormeck. But even Audley beat Bonin, so it doesn't really count.

Haha.

Yeah his power is good, it's just not as devastating as it was at Crusierweight.

Didn't even realise Bonin was at heavyweight, didn't really pay attention tbh.

I just hope loads of the British public fall into the trap of betting on Haye so that Wlad's odds shoot up. I could make a bit of money on this one I reckon.
