Happy days.

I backed Froch last time to good effect, and I will do so again.

Easy money.
What odds did you get last time, I reckon they might be a bit more generous this time.

Was about 1/3 last time.

If they fought next week you'd get around 1/2

Froch has earned the right to choose whichever opponent he sees fit.

Once a year boxing fans will call for a Groves rematch which is fair enough given the circumstances their fight ended in but Carl has nothing to prove to George or anyone else for that matter. He walked in a champion and he walked out a champion.

If money wasn't the issue Froch would fight Ward to avenge his only unavenged loss but PPV punters don't like Ward's style hence this fight probably won't happen especially since Ward can rightly claim that he has nothing to prove to Froch. He'd need megabucks to come to England and the numbers wouldn't add up to hold it in Vegas.

Aint seen a lot of him but as far as i can tell Chavez Jr is not an elite fighter and has spent his career bigging up his record by fighting much smaller guys. He's hardly a household name to PPV punters over here either so I don't see much mileage in this one.

I'd love to see Froch v GGG but apparently the GGG camp view Froch as too big a gamble given the natural size difference.

Groves is a nice kid but he should look elsewhere. Being disrespectful to a genuine top class British world champion won't win him too many friends in the game. Given his enhanced reputation there are plenty of other big fights he could take now;, Bute (if he comes back down), DeGale (for IBF title if Carl vacates), Stieglitz, Kessler even. Winning in style against anyone of these would confirm his world class credentials and would give him more to bring to the table for Froch negotiations.

I think if Eddie Hearn really thought he could sell out a football stadium in summer for this fight with commensurate ppv revenue then it would already have been signed.

Froch was Groves' first real big test and he failed. There was a big fuss about the early stoppage but Froch has history of coming back later on in fights and I think Groves was beginning to tire. His subsequent behaviour is disappointing and I hope he's being badly advised. How he recovers from his first defeat is always telling.

Chavez Jnr beat Andy Lee and John Duddy both Irish fighters. KOd Lee and beat Duddy on the cards he fights Brain Vera next who was beaten by Andy Lee. Honestly think Chavez Jnr aint in the league of Froch to be honest. He was big for Middleweight but I aint too sure his power has moved up with him to be honest.
As for a fight with Bute no chance now. Bute wants another fight with Pascal. Now a fight with Pascal be good but I think Pascal v Stephenson could well be made. DeGale makes no sense for me. Let DeGale win his title and then a Froch fight but I dont think DeGale causes Froch problems and Froch by KO.
I want to see the Groves fight again. A brilliant fight nothing wrong with seeing it again. They will make huge money. I think Froch wasnt great on the night and kind of underestimated Groves thinking that he shouldnt of been in the ring with him and it nearly cost him. His worst fight in years. So Froch I think will want to KO him in style ala the Bute fight. Groves on the other hand thinks he has Frochs number and will be confident and know he has the power to put Froch down. He will pace himself better and when Froch attacks he will be able to cope better in the later rounds if it goes that far. I think it has to happen both fighters will make a mint from the fight and it makes business sense to do it. I never heard many people complaining when Morales v Barrera fights where happening or the Pacquaio v Marquez fights so it can happen and whos to say it wont happen a third time. IF the money is right for both get it on.

Roll on the 15th of Feb be watching live boxing in Dublin. Went up to the Pascal Collins gym in Dublin to get my tickets for the fight today he is training most of the top Irish pros. The likes of Stephen Ormond and Gary Spike O Sullivan. A great gym and Pascal was very welcoming and let us watch a bit of sparring. Will be watching a Gary Hyde show in Dublin. With 3 of his fighters on the bill. Topping the bill Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam in the middleweight divison. Lost a title fight to Peter Quillan. Michel Soro is on the bill he too lost in a World title fight in Light Middleweight and Youri Kayembre Kalenga who looks a bit of a banger is on the bill too. Hyde promotes Rigondeaux so has a eye on the talent out there. Also a lot of Irish fighters fighting cant wait to see Ryan Burnett fighting he is being trained by Ricky Hatton I think as well as being promoted by him. Be a good good night and I am looking forward to it.

Just had the (mis)fortune to have spent the last couple of hours in a meeting with Chris Eubank.
Strange guy!

yeah he is strange but i really enjoyed his book,

Like Lee Selby think he can be a future world champion this year. A good performance will see him maybe 2 fights away from a World title he is the best boxer and slick hitter I have seen from the UK for some time.

Under that radar a bit, But Luis Collazo knocked out Victor Ortiz inside 2 rounds through the week.

Always felt Collazo could have gone on to have a bit more time at the top. He gave Hatton one hell of a fight in 2006 (iirc) and then he was unlucky against Mosley, breaking his wrist in the 2nd round of their fight. He was doing very well against him up until that point. He's a very under-rated fighter.

Thought last nights Sky card was very good. Once Joshua starts to punch his weight and size, he will be an animal.

I think they need to put Joshua in there with a puncher I think he is too good for journey men of sorts. I would love to see him fight either of these fighters in his next fight in March. John McDermott , Tom Dallas , Ian Lewison or Richard Towers would test the big man out. Even then trying to set up a fight with David Price could be a goer as well in the summer time.

Collazo fight was a really good 1 if I remember correctly. Very close rounds and tight on the cards think Hatton got it by 2 rounds and 1 round by the judges. He had Collazo down in the first round and since that moment he just done enough I would of had it a draw as in the second half of the fight Hatton was hanging on in there his first fight as a Welterweight I think it was.

The thing is who is going to be fighting Golovkin next?? He is a beast my fighter of 2013 brilliant destroyed everyone. I want to see him fighting someone like Marthinez but thats not going to happen next. IF not him Martin Murray needs to step up and fight him. Murray looked iffy in his last fight. Hearing internet rumours it might be Andy Lee god help Andy if it is him. Hes a good fighter Andy but Golovkin is the best middleweight I have seen for some time. I want a Lee v Macklin fight but that doesnt seem like happening just yet sadly.

Destroyed who? Matt Macklin?

The thing with GGG is people want to anoint him before he's really achieved anything. He shouldn't really even be near the top 10 of any p4p list at the moment with who he's faced.

Bradley/Garcia/Stevenson/Rigo all had better years with big wins in 2013.

It's not GGG's fault that the middleweight division is shite. Macklin, Barker and Murray aren't world class regardless of what Sky/Hearn say yet all feature in top 10 lists. Andy Lee gets bracketed in world class over here it seems to me largely because Manny Steward once trained him. Martinez is shot, Sturm is shot (beating a crippled Barker makes him world class again ? not for me). Who else is there ? Quillin maybe - but again who's he fought, 45yr old Winky ?

It's a bare division and GGG case isn't helped by Martinez hangin around in the hope that Floyd or Cotto or Canelo offer him a huge farewell payday. Martinez, disgracefully, wants nothing to do with GGG so who should GGG fight ?

Did anyone see Scott Quigg on ringside saying Frampton got knocked down in sparing and basically saying that Framptons chin is like glass. Yet he has been put down in fights himself while Frampton has been in with Kiko and took his shots and KO'D him. It was funny compared to Frampton a few weeks back who was positive and a inner belief that he has Quiggs number if they were to fight. Yet Quigg was all nervous. I want this fight to happen asap. Its a shame it will never happen as Hearn wont put Quigg in with Frampton.

As for GGG he is blowing away whoever he gets in the ring with. I think he wants to win the whole Middleweight titles and move up to Super Middleweight but who does he fight there. Froch??? Froch seems to be busy with Groves or whoever. Andre Ward now that would be a fight. Or hope that Saul Alvarez moves up to Middleweight there the only options that he could have who does he fight next???

This chap Nav Mansouri was impressive on Friday night retaining his English title, we were main sponsors of the night and had a good chat with him, lovely bloke.

Good night of boxing coming up on the 8th March in Manchester!

I saw Quigg. He doesn't seem as comfortable behind the camera as Frampton does. I bet Frampton is still kicking himself for turning down the Romero fight. Quigg and Frampton need to get it on now though. It's been simmering for a couple of years. It would be a good fight. I don't think Hearn is scared of putting him in there though. I don't buy that at all. Hearn has too many fighters under his belt to worry too much about Quigg losing to Frampton.

Problem with Golovkin now is that a lot of the guys at 160 are all of fairly similar standard. Maybe Quillin could be tricky for him. Total fantasy match up and i'd expect him to have too much for him but I'd be interested in him fighting David Lemieux. That would be a lot of fun. A Martinez fight half appeals. Also be interesting to see if he could stop Geale or Sturm, but the big fights for him are up at 168, probably in about 12 months time.
