The Boxing thread

Tough for DeGale, winning while the other fight was a draw. It will be interesting to see what happens with the proposed unification now.

DeGale needs to get back in the UK now. Wasting his peak fighting on undercards in the boxing wilderness.

Hopefully he gets the Jack fight in the UK. Could see it being a close one actually. I think DeGale is better but seems to waste rounds boxing within himself. I always feel like he could do more.

Berto got some low key revenge on Ortiz last night as well. Stopped him.

Fury says he will retire after Klitschko fight. He was struggling to find the motivation for this second fight so I think it's understandable for a guy to retire if the hungers no longer there.

More like he knows he's nothing left at the top level and quitting while he's kinda ahead but I think he will lose the fight. If he wins Joshua beats him easy

Please, based on what? Joshua has beaten 0 credible opponents for you to say he beats the best heavyweight on the planet easily.

Tyson knows hype. Retire then come back has earned several fighters lots and lots of dough recently. Imagine the clamour for him to come back and fight Joshua should Joshua be the unified champion in a couple of years.

Who's Tyson fought? Klitschko and that's it. Tyson will lose the rematch too
So you're dismissing Klitschko just like that? The man that reigned supreme over the division for a decade? Beating him must be easy then mustn't it. The fact that Joshua struggled with Dillian Whyte and even you can't deny Fury beat the best heavyweight in the world, for you to make a statement like you made shows a lot about your boxing knowledge.

Fury won't lose to Klitschko, he's too tall and he had WK confused out of his head in that first match. You probably haven't seen much of Fury, but he uses height and size advantages brilliantly. That's how he'd fight the AJ fight and I do think he'd win, but I won't dismiss Joshua in that the way you did Fury.

End of the day I just think Tysons made his money and lost his desire, easily done making stupid millions and beating the best of the era.

Anyone giving Khan a chance this week against Canelo?

Interesting to see if Khan has the same speed with the extra weight. He needs to frustrate Canelo and use the whole ring, if he stands and trades for long periods CA will mess him up. AK will need to be disciplined & stick with Hunters game plan, then 'maybe' he can win on points. Khans fitness will play a big factor at 155.
All that said, i still think Canelo is to strong and stops him late on.

Thing that helps Khan is that Canelo isn't a walk you down fighter, he likes to box opponents. Khan could prove hard for Canelo to catch but it's hard to see him not get hit flush for 12 rounds. When he does get hit it's lights out imo.

I'm sure Canelo's team will set up for such a fight, if he manages to close the ring down, he could blast AK out early. Imo Khans best option is to get quick 3/4 combos off and move & try and pinch the rnds, though easier said than done.Think his defence is better under VH but Canelo throws bombs when he's on you, and Khans chin will get tested, not his greatest asset.

Think klitschko underestimated fury and he won't do that this time.

Fair enough klitschkos Ben good but he's hardly in his prime. Yet you mention whyte I think he would give fury a good go.

Beating the best of his era?
Plovetkin
Joshua
Wilder

Might give him more credit if he beats one of them three

He didn't, he was shook even before the fight because as soon as he seen Fury face to face he realised he had very little chance of winning. If you genuinely think Whyte would give the undisputed champion of the world a good go I give up.

And yet you state earlier that he gave Joshua 'a go'... Styles right??

Ill take any money you want that Joshua would beat fury within 6 rounds...

He did because Joshua is a novice who's fought duds. I never said Whyte was a good fighter he's shit, you can watch him and see his punches he can't even throw them properly. Fact is most people hate Fury because of his comments about gays. I'll always support a Manchester lad good luck to him and if they do fight pm me and we can have our bet.

errrr Don't forget that Hayes 'prime' involved running away from the bigger fellas....
This is what I mean. The poster above doesn't even realise that Haye couldn't even get anywhere close to wlad and couldn't even do much against Valuev. Haye is undoubtedly more talented than them all, but skills don't always matter size does too. Fury will be too big for Haye.
