The British Monarchy

The press don’t half fool people.

If you were due to have a life saving triple heart bypass operation on Monday, you’ll still be having it! They just use photos of surgeons in the middle of an operation next to that headline to get people overexcited.

It’ll be people like Dave from Withington who was going to have a check-up because he’s got crabs and the crab consultant has got the day off, that’ll be cancelled.

I understand that, I just know from first hand experience the pain and inconvenience people go through with 'only' none life threatening procedures booked in. My dad has been waiting nearly two years for rotary cuff surgery on his shoulder. It's go to the point where he can barely use one of his arms. He's not a priority though. There will absolutely be people waiting for stuff like this, and even more serious, who have been waiting for months and will now likely have to wait longer. In fact, there are. Plenty of reports of people who have been waiting for ages who are now left not knowing when their operations will get done...because of one person's funeral. It's incredibly unfair and unnecessary.

Or maybe the poll is broadly representative of most recent polls re the monarchy, and the shock is that actually BMs views might not be as left or weird (compared to wider society) as some posters desperately want it to be....
I just expected a resounding NO on BM (except for @kaz7 of course) :)
This place used to be more left wing, I'm sure of it. I suspect underhandedness. :))

Whilst it’s annoying, it’s only 24 hours and if you are only not voting for the Tories because of this, then welcome aboard, but it’s more down to chronic underfunding and the pandemic than the Queen dying.

It is a generalization I agree but right wing people generally support the Monarchy. Left wing people generally don't like the posh upper class twats.
Fair one, guess that's true. What puzzles me is many of the working class have an affinity with that family, when they're a gross representation of entitlement and class entrenchment.

I maintain the Queen was the only sense of normalcy withing that vile institution. Now she's gone I can see the veneer fading steadily. It speaks volumes that the most down-to-earth member, in Harry, has decided he wants nothing more to do with them henceforth.

Hospital appointments are mad, I got top priority for surgery on a broken hand for throwing a punch last year and spent a week on a trolley for a head scan after having a nearly fatal seizure a week earlier.
