The British Monarchy

People are free to vote for whoever they want or feel like their interest would be best served. All of our Presidents are in because they achieved an electorate based on merit and achieving support from the public, as dislikeable their views may be. It's not like the royal family, where the members have carried out heinous acts with impunity and lack any personality other than being born into a family.

Sounds to me as though you've got exactly what we have, only you voted for it.

I haven't reinforced anything. In fact, you've completely disregarded my point about head of states being elected.

The point you are missing is that we're a nation of fucking idiots. We voted for Brexit because people believed 3 word slogans printed on the side of a bus over facts and data. The people who hate these "fucking scroungers" who make up our Royal Family would almost certainly vote for people with similarly privileged backgrounds and similarly dark secrets who would have the power to do a hell of a lot more damage.

because you disregarded my point that someone from a country who would choose Trump has the audacity to criticise another countries head of state
I don't think the poster was criticizing the head of state, i.e Charles. He was criticizing the system that put him there.

And if Americans choose to make Trump President again, then it's on them. It's a bed they'll have made and will have to sleep in.

This escalated quickly.

Anyway, the rumours are that she's not well so she may have had to photoshop a Mothers Day photo as they are expected to put one out.

To be fair, I think the press should leave her the F alone. If she is dealing with some health issues then they should have some space regardless of whether we agree with her existence or not.

Didn't the British elect Boris Johnson?

The reason why Trump got elected and continues to be very popular over here because he appeals to the rural voters, who have felt disenfranchised by the ruling elite. Yes Trump may have undesirable traits as a person, but his core principles such as prioritizing America and putting American interests first, is what appeals to the voters. Is that something to be critical of? Absolutely not.

Thank fuck there are people in the world like you.

When America has spent decades becoming the worlds self-appointed policeman, and establishing themselves as the premier allied military power electing Trump as president means it's a bed the whole of the western world has to sleep in, and whilst I have no issues with putting your own country first, to do so to such an extent and with no regard to world consequences is absolutely something to be critical of.

As for electing Boris Johnson, I have no defence to offer there
