The British Monarchy

Look on the thread, yes I will assert that all day long. My barb wasn't necessarily aimed at you in this instance I don't believe the discussion of is she working class enough relevant.

Some on here are probably disappointed she hasn't gone missing for good.
It’s only relevant as far as it makes no sense (and I have no idea why @Brewster's millions is doubling down on it given by definition she came from wealth and privilege), I will agree with that.

But my problem with that statement—and the royal family more broadly—is not based on hate.

It is based on my position that is an institution that ha outlasted its usefulness and has actually come to embody some of the biggest issues with our country.

But that's your opinion, I haven't seen hate from you mate. The monarchy is still popular and there are a lot of people who just read what they want and believe what they hear from their own clans of fools.

But that’s not the context of the saying.

Making it the context means no one outside of the royal family is ‘born with a silver spoon in their mouth’.

And that is not the definition of the phrase.

That has little to do with whether Kate herself was born in to wealth and privilege.

Are you really trying to imply my issue with @Brewster's millions nonsensical defence of his assertion Kate did not come from wealth and privilege is based on “hate”?
Maybe not, but it does show a very close proximity to working hard and the realities of life.

Absolutely but without the media and the interest they create, they wouldn’t be able to promote the “brands” that create their wealth.

These type people don’t want to disappear or create privacy.

The question as always is media intrusion, especially social media should never over step the line in the sand, something it sadly does all to often with lots of people.
They never said that. They wanted to control their media coverage to protect the privacy in their lives when they wanted it to remain private.

That was lost in all the noise about them having to become recluses because they wanted total privacy, which was always a nonsense.

Closer to it than the royal family, certainly, but further away from it than most people in the UK (and the vast majority of people on earth).

Not sure it even makes sense tbh. Was she going to have a nut fitted to her mons pubis so the "peg" could be bolted in ?
It was a quip based on the alleged interest that her husband has in a certain activity. They know this, but tried to paint some nonsensical meaning into it.

Fair enough.

As long as you aren’t saying everyone that thinks the monarchy should be abolished or questions strained narratives that any current member of the royal family are “of the people” are doing so from a place of “hatred”.

No mate I most certainly am not.

You and I both know and can read behind the lines though, and there's plenty of hate. The only way this could be decided is through a referendum but people who have their views challenged just don't like the truth.

If republicans and liberals thought they could get is past a referendum they'd be screaming for one.

I wouldn’t. I’d get rid of referenda altogether in this country. They’ve never worked well alongside our Parliament.
