The British Monarchy

"Just change the channel and watch sumat else!" lol

Wonder how many will copy this? Absolutely spending all day out of the house if I can.

When it was Senna's funeral I watched a bit on Eurosport and it wasn't "live" in the top corner as normal but "direct".

Roll up for your enforced mourning.

This way please for your sackcloths.

Forelock tugging just around the corner.

Meghan darts €5 a throw.

All proceeds from the darts go to King Charles, who will draw a peerage at random.

People are going to stay in and not watch this so they can complain about not having anything on the other 5000 channels to watch.
It is a little weird to have all those channels just to show one thing, don’t you think?

Although, I may watch it on their F1 channel as it’ll be a funny little anecdote in the future and might even be in UHDTV.

Maybe Sky Crime though. Or Comedy.

It's a bit OTT IMO I would agree, but it is what it is and for one day I can deal with it, OK I don't really watch live TV so it wouldn't affect me anyway.

The problem is that's not enough for some people. I have no interest in the royal family, but people who do have insisted that everything that I enjoy needs to be cancelled out of respect for them.
I think that rather than as the media had for some reason hoped for that this would unite the country it has really shown up a few things such as how the country is deeply divided, how the media tries to shape public opinion rather than report the news and how if you do not fit in with the medias opinion you are vilified rather than being asked why you have that opinion.

I disagree.

There’s always gonna be dissenting voices, especially in the internet age and at a particular two weird football clubs.

But overall, I’ve seen many people who are against the monarchy, show a lot of respect and even me pals who are socialists and republicans have spoken quite positively about it.

You saw the crowds in Scotland, which was a positive surprise and all major political parties are behind the monarchy, as we’ve seen from their class to the situation (for once).

Even the SNP are pro monarchy.

It’s going nowhere soon.
