It cuts both ways, for sure. Those who protest get time off in exactly the same way as those who cheer. I myself would not have wasted my leave on either activity. Of course, I am now on 365 days a year of leave, but I still regard my time as precious.

On the other hand, monarchies include such democratic paradises as:

I know he has to remain emotionless and non political as head of state, but more telling in what was and was not in it than the dullness of the whole ceremony.

I’ll take it to the Irish thread if necessary but The Conservative and Unionist party’s government speech and not a mention about the return of Stormount power sharing assembly. No votes for them in NI. No mention of them at all. They really don give a shit about the place and it’s amazing that the DUP and Unionists in general, can’t see this.
