The Championship thread...

If Bournemouth go up get your money on Carlton Cole signing, admitted he's a fan and would love to join them plus Pitman, Rantie and Kermogant aren't good enough, it's doubtful if Wilson will be strong enough to play up to on his own so Cole would be a decent foil for him.

I am not knocking Carlton Cole but surely they can do better with Premier League money?

I think Carlton Cole is at a time when he should possibly consider dropping down into the Championship.

I think they do need to get a few Premier League proven players but not ones who are past it and are on the verge of being Championship level.

Amazing for a team like Bournemouth to be top of the championship with only a month to go. I hope they do it, what a feeling for there fans. With the money involved in the prem, espiecally within the next few seasons, they should be set for years.
I would guess that if they do go up, they'll have a testing season and will more than likely go straight back down. The players they have now wouldn't be good enough to keep them up and they'll have a job talking decent players into moving to Bournemouth. But they'll be financially sorted for years with the new TV money.

Out of all the places to live for a player in a Premier League team, Bournemouth would be right up there with the best if not the best, it's a wonderful place, especially in the summer.

The worst thing they could do is go out and spend too much money because if they do and go down it could cost them big time, they need to do a blend of what Burnley are doing this season and relying on coaching and fighting spirit and also what Southampton did this summer and scout players correctly, but obviously in relation to their budget.

I think Bournemouth got about £6m of the Lallana transfer fee, if I remember correctly. As for the area, yes it's certainly a bigger pull than Watford or Middlesbrough. I think Harry still lives in Sandbanks, over Poole way. Some of the dearest real estate on the planet.
If they do get up it'll be a nice change in town from having bouncers on the doors of all the pubs whenever Leeds or bloody Millwall are in town!

Bournemouth have been good all season and I think they'll win the league.

Norwich have been excellent since Alex Neil took over and have a lot of Premiership experience and quality in their squad. I think Derby will go up too, the loan signings of Ince and Bent have added quality to an already good squad.

To me it makes sense, Cole's got experience, he's a fan, affordable wages and will be available on a free.

Kermogant is awesome, I watched him a lot at Charlton. Really under-rated player, he's got quality. He's not a great goalscorer, even though he's got 14 this season, but his link-up play is probably the best in that league. He's a secondary striker.

Not seen much of Pitman, but he's scored a lot this season for a third choice striker. Barnes has done well for Burnley in the Premiership and he was Burnley's third choice last season.

I don't doubt it for second. I wasn't on about the area, just the attraction of playing Bournemouth. If they were in for a decent quality young player from overseas who was also being courted by, say, Crystal Palace, where would that player prefer to move; Bournemouth with its nice beaches and lovely climate or the "bright lights"™ of London? And I agree with you about them overspending in bid to stay up. It doesn't guarantee you survival. Look at QPR two or three years back.

I think Bournemouth have played brilliant all season. I think there is a few players in that squad that could make the break in the Premier League and do well. I like Harry Arter the lad looks a solid player and seems to get his fair share of goals from midfield and some stunning goals too. He could do something for a team in the mid to bottom half of the league. Matt Richie too looks good in midfield too. The striker Wilson looks a strong lad too but weather he can score goals in the league is the biggest question. Keep Boruc at all cost as hes a good keeper. They need to get hold of a experienced defender or 2 but with the way they have played this season and if they take to the league the way they play at moment they will be good to look at Im looking forward to seeing them in the league.

Middlesbrough have signed Fulham defender Fernando Amorebieta on loan until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Boro left-back James Husband has joined the Whites until the end of the campaign as part of the deal.

Seems a pointless signing, they already have some lad from Chelsea, Williams, Woodgate, Gibson, Ayla and Kalas that can play there, he's been shocking for Fulham.

Bournemouth have completed the loan signing of Cardiff City striker Kenwyne Jones for the rest of the season

Him and Callum Wilson should be a superb front line.

Not a fan of Kenwyne Jones but he should be a handful for defences and will occupy the defenders leaving space for Wilson's pace to exploit.
