It's possible that Bournemouth and Brentford will be in the Prem next season, how very strange
As I say to those who used to moan at Wigan being in the PL, they were there because they earned their right to be there. It had fuck all to do with the size of their crowds. It's not that difficult a concept to get you heads around. The same would apply to Bournemouth and Brentford. And actually, it'd be good to see a couple of new teams in the PL. Not sure how long their stays would be, but that's for them to address.

Very true, I guess every club deserves it's moment in the sunshine

Easy known Mick McCarthy isn't the Wolves manager any more. If a defender made that fuck up when he was there, Mick would have had him hung, drawn and quartered in the centre circle.

Felt sorry for him on that goal. Wolves look good going forward, dark horses for getting promoted.

Wigan were there due to funding from Whelan. They could afford to buy better players, whch tends to be the difference. If they'd had to rely on their crowds they never would have made it. And if they lose to Fulham on Friday, they'll almost certainly be going back where they came from because that scale of funding isn't there for them any longer.

The same accusation has been levelled at us. If a club has a sugar daddy, so be it. Blackburn had Jack Walker to thank for their PL title. And going back to the sixties/seventies, Liverpool were bankrolled by the Litlewoods/Moores family. And our quiet neighbours had that nice butcher fella helping them out in the seventies. Go to Italy and Juventus were backed by Fiat and Milan were funded by Berlusconi's media empire. PSV in Holland, backed by the Phillips electrical company. Etc etc. It's always happened. Wigan were nothing new.

I still think if/when Bournemouth come up and they struggle, a certain unemployed alleged football manager who lives nearby might be tempted have another shot.

I bloody hope not.

They'd be crazy to get rid of Eddie Howe no matter how they do next season (if they get promoted).

Agreed. He's got them where they are now (though the players had a little to do with it!).
