The Chase

It will get there because of the postcode.
AI..

No, SK15 is not a Cheshire postcode; it is a postcode district based in Stalybridge, which is part of Greater Manchester, not Cheshire. Cheshire postcodes typically begin with "CH".

To find postcodes for Cheshire, you would use a postcode district beginning with CH. For example, CH3 covers parts of Chester within the Cheshire West and Chester local authority area.

Warringron is WA which also covers Knutsford, Lymm and Altrincham which has a WA14 postcode - despite being in Trafford.

Many folk in Alty and Sale still say Cheshire, though Sale is M33.
Sale RUFC still have the 3 wheat-sheaves Cheshire emblem as their badge

Though don’t get me started on Warrington being in Cheshire. We lived in Warrington when I was born and my birth certificate very proudly states the county of Lancashire on it.

Postcode letters indicate where the mail is distributed from. SK is Stockport, M is Manchester, LS Leeds etc.
London is different and is based on compass points; SW for south west London etc.
BL is Bolton and includes parts of Bury. Prestwich is officially in Bury but most parts have Manchester postcodes.
My partner lives in a small village in north Herefordshire but has an SY postcode and indicating a Shrewsbury (Shropshire) distribution centre.

Glad the old lady got through ..made me smile. I think the chaser let one go for her, but she would have got through anyway.

So then tonight a question:

Whose football stadium is built on the site of an old colliery:

a) Derby County b) Manchester City c) Sunderland

The correct answer was Sunderland.

Now, let’s just say that the contestant had been caught in the ‘one question shootout’ ( she wasn’t - she romped home) by answering City, could she have had a case for some kind of litigation?

I knew the answer all day long was Sunderland, I just can’t understand why City was an option given that it too was built on an old colliery site.

What am I missing here?

I’d have got it wrong, I’d have said City of course, which is as correct as Sunderland

Their researchers are not as smart as they think.

I had a row with my wife as I knew the Etihad was built on the site of the Bradford colliery. Think the people who set the question dropped a bollock with that one.

One question a while back: What is the name of the 76000 seater stadium in Manchester? I told Mrs Ewing that the correct answer is 'There isn't one!'
