i know this is quite a what if question but been thinking about it over the last few days!!Say we finish 4th and qualify for champions league,do you think the chequebook will be opened and start signing real world class players now that we can offer champions league?im talking 20mil plus signings??jus wondering what othes think??

I'm sure if Mancini , or whoever is at the helm of this club during the summer , wants a player , the finance will be found ...... but i don't really see Mancini as being the 'spendthrift' type of manager ..... more a laid back one who treads carefully.

If we get into 4th I reckon we'll spend quite heavily. Let's face it, if we don't, we will be struggling to do anything much in the CL and will have another struggle on our hands to maintian 4th place in the future. They want to dominate football, surely that means getting into the CL, signing the top players who we can then attract and then shitting on all and sundry.

Big players expect Champions League so we won't get them easily, we might be able to offer it but thats a completely different story to actually challenging to win it which is what they want.

and in future don't eat so much fibre!

I think we can go for the top players even if we dont get 4th. When we went for kaka we had just come out of the bottom 3 so there was nothing to make kaka think we could get CL football any time soon. This we have been around the top 4 all season so the players would see we should be at least challenging for CL from now on, maybe even with the right players going for the title.

if we get 4th i would expect us to do in at least 150mil.

i would also expect us to drag in at least 50mil from our "clear out".

sniejder thats the boy, but i know who i would like as a box to box midfielder, abouie think thats how you spell it, the boy at arsenal, just think he could do a really good job for us, he was getting the ade treatment earlier this season so a bit of pressure would probably go a long way, he is fast and improving all the time?

I'd rather go for Mesut Ozil to play infront of our bank of holding midfielders.

Yes, first the dead wood would be cleared out then i feel we would go for the big boys. Getting in the Champions League was always more important than winning a trophy this season!

The chequebook won't be truly opened until the mess in Dubai is sorted out. Mansour was revered for putting so much into a foreign sports franchise when his cousin was sat on his arse over the road, him and Khaldoon are too smart to get that kind of publicity again.

utter horseshit.

I think that it's nailed on that we'll be spending big in the summer whatever happens - the only difference will be that if we make 4th, we'll spend truly obscene amounts and if we don't, it'll just be huge amounts.

We're not at United or Chelsea's standard yet and our owners want the best, so we'll be spunking money around while the rest look on enviously. The press will hate us, but we'll love it and eventually, we'll shit all over the rest.

Three cheers for Sheikh Mansoor.

Didn't stop him did it. He ain't going to put outside investments on hold because his neighbours are a bit strapped.
