BAM plans job cuts after Co-op Live troubles
The contractor’s UK and Ireland division fell to a near £20m loss in the first half of 2024 due to issues related to the Manchester arena project.BAM UK signed a £253m deal to build Oak View Group’s 23,500-capacity venue in 2021 – the division’s largest ever contract – but costs soared amid “project delays and supply chain issues”, according to BAM.
BAM UK’s construction division recorded an adjusted EBITDA of -£19.8m (€23.6m) for the first six months of the year owing to its troubles on the Co-op Live job.
