The question is why they charge the shippers like British Gas and what's left of the "competitive" market so much. Media pointing out that they can't favour their own subsidiary BG, but they could reduce the mark up on the fuel they buy (or produce) and still make the profits they used to make.

Let’s face it, they‘ve had all of us off and the fact that they were making 3 times the profit(eering) does not have to be stressed. They blame Russia, I blame them.

Its like when the Tories say ''massive investment into the NHS''....But its not because they've privatised a fair chunk of it ... so the massive investment is going into the pockets of heir mates and donors.

It was like when the recent announcement dropped, telling everybody about the 800 more ambulances and thousands of extra beds and when asked about nurses, they had no idea and never thought to crunch the numbers.

It was as if an ambulance builder and medical bed maker needed some sales, completely ignoring the huge elephant in the room where they cannot retain medical staff due to years of underfunding.

The whole Council Tax thing is a con and only benefits the wealthy .... there are no bands beyond 'H' which means that you pay the same level of council tax if your home is worth £900k or £20 million.

How does it only benefit the wealthy? The bigger your house the worse off you are.

Council tax also tapers by status where the poorest pay a reduced amount or nothing at all.

Everyone is taxed too much already.

Good job for them Starmer has committed to spending more on the private providers. Both parties must have the same mates and same donors.

they pay tax on UK earnings - cleverly splitting it up into various divisions mean @ 10% of the sum quoted as profits is UK so no a tiny fraction is paid in tax. Like all former nationalised industries they have been manipulated to make sure their UK earnings can be expressed as a tiny fraction of overall profits - imagine a Thatcher led Conservative Govt allowing that to happen.........................
