The Conservative Party

Conservative social values in the way of Edmund Burke’s line of thinking.

The Tories are socially liberal now.
Interesting. Can you give us an example of a Burkean social policy that you'd like to see introduced in this parliament?

When your rhetoric is about the existential danger of "the radical left" and peppered with talk of "identity politics", stuff that the average person in the street has no contact with or interest in, cos they are irrelevant to our lives , then don't complain when you get compared to the other nutyy groups that spout such phrases.

As for your university story, if you can find any other poster on here who believes it and is willing to paint your sister is daft enough to think there aren't right wing students or not to understand that such views are, and always have been, a minority on almost every campus, then... Good luck.

My brother never met anyone Welsh at university but I'm not on here painting him as an idiot who believes that the Welsh are deliberately excluded from campus, that leeks and daffodils were banned or that there wasn't any Welsh people there because he didn't know any.

Your example/story was ludicrous and so is your faux outrage at this being pointed out.
Are you being purposefully ignorant now?

I don’t expect a single person to believe it, this forum is massively left wing, there’s likely nobody on here who shares conservative views. Pannick did actually like my post though, so there’s maybe one?

Again, I will repeat, I am not saying nobody has conservative views on campus, I am saying that there was none of these views expressed that she saw or heard.

Your example of no Welsh people is disingenuous, what I would be actually saying is - she didn’t see or hear from any Welsh people so there’s obviously a discrepancy with the number of Welsh people vs none Welsh people onsite. With the latter being the vast majority.

You’re purposefully bending what I’ve said.

there’s likely nobody on here who shares conservative views.
More Trump esque "people like me are being cancelled" lies when the counter evidence is all around for people to see.

There are plenty of conservative posters on here. Just because they aren't a majority or aren't as caught up in arguing all day, it doesn't mean they don't exist.

As you well know.

Of course, Burke thought family is the core institution, in which societies are structured and then pass moral knowledge to the next generation.

I would like to see some sort of initiative or possibly legislation to combat the decline in the family unit.

Leaving aside the fact that this is exactly what you were inferring....

Let's pretend the above statement is accurate and you weren't seeking to use it as evidence of some cancel culture trend (you know, the topic being discussed when you introduced this fairy tale).

What use at all did you actually think that an anecdote about the experience of one person with obviously a politically limited social circle was to this discussion, if it wasn't to support your claims of a cancel culture being led by "the radical left"?

People are laughing at your attempts to backtrack here.

I never said they were cancelled although the moderating does come down harder on right wing posters than left.

I just said there is hardly any if none at all that share my views that post regularly in this sub forum.

When you contrast it to the amount of left wing posters it’s a great discrepancy.

If you mean share every single view, that's true for every poster/person on earth.

If you mean shares generally right of centre views, that is just untrue (with the caveat that there are only a very small subset of constant, all day, regular posters - making comparisons among them worthless).

Yes no doubt you lot are all in your DM’s coordinating a giggle, it’s what is often done on here. They claim I am on ignore and then spend hours indirectly trying to bully me off the forum. Some of these men are beyond middle aged and still haven’t grown up.

If you use your eyes you will see it was originally added on to a wider point as a personal example, similar to what Fode did in his description of discussing the backgrounds of trans people he’s personally met. I was giving an example of what someone I know very well experienced.

There is a cancel culture among the left and it is within your benefit to try and pretend there isn’t.

I will repeat, she saw zero conservative views in several years of being on campus and admitted I was the first conservative she’d actually had a proper discussion with, after coming home from Christmas. The whole point of the story was to highlight how a fairly decent university has little contrasting political views, which was part of a wider point on how difficult it is for conservatives on campus.
