The Conservative Party

She is getting perilously close to locking herself in that big fridge isn't she?
There’ll be no electricity to power it! Suffice it to say, she has a heck of a lot riding on November 23rd. If that goes anywhere near as pear-shaped as the fiscal statement, and any cuts will be severe, then the country will continue in a tailspin up until Christmas, at which point, on current form, it will be plunged into freezing blackouts. ‘Oh! but she was a tight-fisted hand at the grindstone, Truss’, to paraphrase Dickens.

why do the press keep resorting to this kind of photo and some footage from the age? If it happens it will be way way - H&S will shut your pub not let you all drink by candle light and the tills won't work - likewise Tesco won't let you put a candle on your trolley to set fire to your acrylic jumper as you wander round nor will their tills and stock management systems work with no leccy nor will the card machines and no retailer will sell you produce from fridges and freezers that have been without power for some time - its the same as the covid shut down "Blitz Spirit - nobody closed the pubs in the East End bull shit " - 3 hour daily rolling power cuts will paralyze the country

We've heard a lot from the government how they have done more than anyone else in helping energy consumers with the price rises due to the war in Ukraine, and they seem very proud of whet they've done.
Someone from the opposition or the media needs to ask them why the consumer price of energy since the war started in February has risen by around 110% in the UK (158% for gas and 68% for electricity) compared to an EU average of 14%.
That's using my own bills as reference and this for the EU.
