It's not the youngsters fault that those who dined out on the boom era have pissed it up the wall.

YouGov snap poll...
‘How fair (+) or unfair (-) each age group thinks it is on people like them to raise National Insurance to pay for NHS and social care (net figures):
18-24 year olds: -40
25-49 year olds: -22
50-64 year olds: -7
65+ year olds: +30’
Not from now on.To clarify - Yougov summarise it as
the older Britons are, the more likely they are to say it is fair to people like them that National Insurance be raised to pay for NHS and social care
National insurance that only those under pension age will pay.
Quelle surprise.
I'm not sure the respondents knew that... Yougov says the question was, "Would you support or oppose increasing the National Insurance base rate from 12% to 13% to fund social care for the elderly?" So the result might be different if they realised it included that working pensioners would have to pay an extra 1.25% on earnings (I assume working pensioners will only pay the 1.25% levy, not the full 13.25%).Not from now on.
If you work beyond pension age you will now pay NI.
It should affect all tax paying pensioners.I'm not sure the respondents knew that... But then only 1 in 8 pensioners are in employment so it won't affect 7 in 8.
£10 a week? Something like that? So like the government has taken out an expensive phone contract in your name but given the phone to Dido HardingSo.. if someone earns 50k. Will they notice any difference in their monthly pay ? Out of interest
