The Conservative Party

I have noted a growing trend of people saying Brexit hasn't worked and the Tory Government has failed because they aren't really Tories (or Brexiters) but Socialists and closet Remainers. (As if those two things necessarily go together!)

Now all Tory MPs are selected by Tory Constituency Parties from an approved list of Tory candidates. What's more, all those elected at the last GE had to promise to support Johnson's shitty deal. Any that refused were deselected.

So clearly the narrative is utter BS. I don't believe people are thinking up this shite, someone out there is pushing it as a message. It's a comforting doctrine - if you're as thick as several short planks.

If you think any member of the Tory Government is a Socialist you are simply a clueless ****, at best. To be honest, the great majority of the Parliamentary Labour Party aren't socialist. I'm not even sure Starmer cuts it as a social democrat. It's arguable. We shall see if/when he's in power.

Hancock being hung out to dry by ‘his own’ Telegraph. Certainly culpable, but an interesting source. Punishment for going rogue, or a calculated attempt to pin as much blame on him so that Big Dog can run clear?

Although a truly awful story that needed to come to light, I find the timing of it is quite interesting following Sunak’s brimming support for the EU.

Somewhat like dropping a dead cat on the table.

BBC stating that the Telegraph got the messages from the ghastly Oakeshott who got them because she helped write Hancock's book.

If she's passed them to the Telegraph, that ought to finish her but as she's Tice's sidekick on GBNews she'll probably be being interviewed about it instead.

Those focus groups can be very persuasive

Ha - I may have misheard, but it sounded like he changed his mind after meeting an expert group rather than a focus group; the implication seemed to be that the Oakeshott files came before that change of mind.

What else is happening today that the loony right want to bury?!

It's all a bit fishy. Not sure what to make of it all.

Oakeshitt is the partner of Richard Tice whose wealth comes from commercial property and was reduced by lockdown so he is bitter and so is she - there will be some nuggets of truth in what she reveals but as a credible source of the truth I will park her story over there in the corner and see what the Covid inquiry do its work

I thought she provided WhatsApp messages, not an interpretation of the content?
