The Conservative Party

On general election night me and my mate are staying up all night!!! Popcorn beer curry and cheering like every goal we score against the rags when every Tory **** MP loses! Don’t care who ousts them!!!
I'll be booking next day off work so I can watch it all unfold.

Ahhh ... todays big story is that the Tories are dealing with dangerous dogs

Homeless ?
NHS Waiting lists?
Cost of living crisis?
Doctors Strike?
Rail Workers strike?
Energy Crisis ?
Social Care Crisis ?
Steel plant closures?

Nah .... lets pick Dogs
Surely a home office problem.
Strangely enough when we’re talking about vicious, slavering, out-of
-control dangerous beasts attacking innocent people who are unlucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, there is no sign of braverman.
Mysterious.

was that discussion in daylight hours? I'd suggest she cannot function in day light and needs darkness to appear

You don't think a government should respond to people being torn to bits? Of your list, only steel plant closures are "news" and that's about keeping it open.

I hate the Tories, but be fair. Dog bites man isn't news, but dog kills man is. And "Tories suggest a bit of good legislation" is certainly newsworthy.

Don’t underestimate the impact our voting system will have. In a 3 way fight, anyone with just 31% of voting share can, and will win.

There has to be a point where its restricted to just ONE job...... he cannot hold down three and claim he is dedicated to public service

It was always a Cameron vanity project - he thought he would still be in power today and it would cost 30 bob the tosser
It's mental that anyone couldn't see the problem with this project. More people would benefit from small and agile rail investment. Nothing sums it up more than the fact that you can almost get from Manchester to London (200 miles) as quickly as you can get from Manchester to York (70 miles).

France has an excellent TGV system but that system is there because it otherwise takes absolutely ages to get to the south of France. We don't have that problem in the UK, nobody is that interested in getting to London in 1hr instead of 2hrs. The time problem only really applies to travel to Scotland but HS2 won't even get you 1/4 of the way there. Most people who travel to Scotland regularly are business types who will probably fly instead.

A second problem with HS2 is to be effective and get to high speed it will have to have a limited number of stops and that completely defeats the point of it in enabling more mobility. It's a completely stupid idea, unfortunately it can't be cancelled now but it should be limited as much as possible to save cost.

The rest of the money should be given to the areas where it will make a real difference.

What is needed is more capacity on the rail network. It is not just about speed, it's about having paths for (for example) the improved local train services we would all like. And goods trains. I believe the lines south of Brum are particularly congested, but the lines around Manchester are too. One reason why, for example, there's only one train an hour to Bramhall.
