Perfect analogy. Not just the people, more the fact that their mantle is exposed as a cheap alternative because the so called ‘middle class’ will no longer be able to replace the expensive stuff.

Why is this bad?
The gov.uk link is from September, apparently reiterating a policy floated 6 years ago. That would mean employers would need to pass tips on.

The FT article says it's going be dropped from the Queen's Speech, so it won't be made law.
Blueinsa. I don’t think it’s bad, but a question on why the government has dragged its heels for over 5 years should be asked to add context. You could say that the government are being creative and useful in doing what they are elected to do and helping the hundreds of thousands in hospitality. You could also be cynical and say that they are desperately searching down the sofa for any loose change to pass over to soften criticism.Why is this bad?
