That's not like for like.
Bridgen was suspended almost immediately; the process has now got as far as expulsion.

I don't know if Bridgen got booted for the original comments alone, or the aftermath. He chunters about vaccines a lot, but it was the Holocaust bit that sank him.

Andrew Bridgen: MP expelled by Tories after Covid vaccine comments

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-65402195

The Conservative Party has expelled MP Andrew Bridgen after he compared Covid-19 vaccines to the Holocaust and was found to have breached lobbying rules.
The member for North West Leicestershire had already lost the party whip, meaning he was sitting as an independent.
But the Tories have now stripped him of his party membership as well.
Mr Bridgen said his expulsion "confirms the culture of corruption, collusion and cover-ups".
Blow the whistle

I don't think they have. The RCN is citing precedents that time limits in law extend to the end of the day from when the time limit starts.

In any case, it's a Tory law so if they have drawn up legislation that's not clear, whose fault is that? Let's face it, the Tories often seem to get caned by the courts.
