The Conservative Party

100% agree. What I find amusing is that the left want others to pay a lot more percentage wise but if they were asked to pay more, oh no I can’t afford to. Also the Governments of all persuasions are not very good with spending other people’s money.

You can tax me more if you want. I can afford it.

So can you I suspect.

Progressive taxes are brilliant. But build your own library and roads if you want.

So much blue on blue action today - Cameron when pressured on Covid preparedness in the NHS effectively said "we had a plan for the NHS but the Health Sec - Hunt - vetoed it coz it was too expensive. Hunts appearance before the hearing will be gold - he is the current CoE and he cannot have that slur on his record without retaliation.

Meanwhile in the HoC tonight the PM and nearly 300 MP's absent themselves from the Johnson vote ......... spineless - off to google what the collective noun for jellyfish is

Edit - I read its a smack lol

So, a staunch Tory voter who feels that they cannot see anything better so now need a Tory of a different name to vote for.

Just a little wake-up for you, it’s the fucking Tories who got us here, no fucker else.
Who are you Mystic Meg?
I haven't voted for several years but hey you know so much about me and I vote for. As you were.............

We have the highest taxes since whenever are you’re worried about a centrist Labour government putting taxes up?

Absolute gobsmacking.
Starmer may be centrist but if you called Miss Tory Scum, his deputy, a centrist, stand well back.
The left within the party are lying low at the moment fearful of scaring the public with the type of rhetoric sometimes heard on here but will resurface with spending demands after the next election.
Just with the Public Sector alone, do you honestly think they are going to accept pay moderation under Labour. They will be demanding catch up.
Corbyn’s money tree was killed off at the last election so their wish list will have to be paid for by both higher taxes and higher spending which is bad news for borrowers.

The whole way the tax system was set up under all Governments makes taxes for some , almost voluntary unless you’re a poor bugger on PAYE. Tax avoidance and evasion is rife so those need sorting out before going asking Joe Public for more of their hard earned.
End payments in cash, remove tax incentives and require submission of all accounting records for scrutiny by properly trained HMRC staff would make “ customers” think twice before evading.

wow thats an amazing conclusion - since the days of Osborne the UK tax burden has steadily risen to - under Sunaks plans - the highest in 70 years. In that time its been widely accepted that austerity took place and public services - NHS - Law and Order and so on were starved of cash - the national debt has gone from £1,011bn when Labour left office to £1.8tn under the Tories so fuck knows where all the money saved in austerity has gone ( servicing debt as it grew is my guess ) interest rates thru the roof - stagnating economy - poor are poorer - food bank use through the roof - all the product of 13 years of Tory Govt. But yeah Labour would ruin all that if they got in..............
It’s where we are in the here and now.
If Labour get in to power, I assume we all agree they are going to be more interventionist and they have a wish list to pay for, plus above inflation pay demands by Public Sector employees in order to catch up.
It will all have to be paid for through higher taxes
