The Conservative Party

Is it too much to ask that our next PM has received some grounding in reality? One that wasn't Oxbridge educated, that wasn't born with a silver spoon, that hasn't worked in the City for some hedge fund sharks or sleazebag legal firm.

Please Christ, can we just have someone normal.
We’ve had more Eton Prime Ministers than we have had Labour Prime Ministers. The two aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive but it’s a damming symbol of our “system “.

The British tory party are the most successful democratically elected party in the world, they have shaped Britain into the mess it's in over a long period and cannot blame anybody else for their mess, it's a shame so many fall for their bullshit

Well Hunt has blamed the Governor of Wandsworth this morning for the state of his prison. Responsible for everything, accountable for nothing.

It's the way of current politicians.

'It wasn't me, Miss. It was a big boy who ran away.'

This is because they are political pygmies who are afraid of responsibility, and also helps explain why they are all so fond of privatisation. 'Not me, Guv, it's such and such a private company.'

The contrast to Lord Carrington, a Tory but a deeply honourable man, who resigned over the Falklands is fucking embarrassing. Carrington was worth a hundred of any current politician.

There was an interesting point made about the new trend for ex-Civil Servants speaking out.

With ministers not taking responsibility, but passing the buck to the civil service, they now see it as fair game. There's a strong case that it was Simon McDonald who finally brought down Johnson, and I suspect Jonathan Slater thought he might do the same to Sunak.

Hopefully the politicians will realise that there's a reason they used to be the ones taking the fall.
