Net lawful immigration is about 700,000. This means the government has issued over one million visas in a year. That's a funny thing for a government to do that allegedly wants to reduce immigration. Presumably, it judges these people are needed for one reason or another. The students, for example, bring in big bucks to the universities, and foreign exchange at that.
But all the focus is on (about) 40,000 or so asylum seekers making it across on boats. And even more so, on sending 200-300 of them to Rwanda in exchange for a similar number with 'complex needs' who will be a greater burden on the NHS and benefits system.
Beats me. Surely even the most deluded fuckwit can see this for what it is. A distraction and a nonsense. They could just have easily cut 40,000 off the visas issued.
