It may not affect many, but it does affect pretty much every one in a position of power, the majority of MPs, most people on TV, most senior people at national newspapers, and most celebrities.People are really stupid to be taken in by a cut in inheritance tax, they dont seem to see that it affects about 5% of the population , the rich people and the odd one caught up in it , people need to look further than the headline
I'm envious mate. Where you heading, out of curiosity? I'm hoping to relocate to Canada before I retire. This country has gone to the dogs.
The brochure promises a 5 ️ experience, but get Butlins
Thank fu*k I’m leaving it next year
They know they are toast.Budget called 4th March.
Tax cut bribes and May Election?
The Tories will have already done the calculation and, by giving tax cuts, which is totally against the grain for them, there’ll be a couple of strategic points. The first will be buying a few of their wavering voters while the main point will be that it will leave the incoming government in an even bigger mess, allowing the Tories to attack them at will and use it as a main point when the next GE comes around. They know they are toast.
The Inheritance Tax idea is to appeal to their core vote only. It's now damage limitation I think.
However, if the touted May election is correct then the March budget will be interesting. As you say, expect something to try and whip up last minute support from floating voters. Good luck with that though as I think many floating voters are heartily sick to death of them. Whatever it pans out to be, it won't be enough.

A bit of a travesty what the Tories have been allowed to get away with and one that will have far reaching consequences for the nation as a whole.
These are my thoughts. The tax breaks will be aimed at their core. They know they are toast.
