The Conservative Party

Indeed , don’t deny any of that.

But there will always be certain issues that the media/public latch onto with a party and the snowball starts.

You think Labour will stay in power for decades and everything will be smooth sailing ? Especially into days social media world ?
no party has any chance of getting any praise or respite after a few years in power.
Difficult to predict. Labour could be in power for two terms but things can change very quickly as the last five years have demonstrated. There is no suggestion from me that anything will run smoothly especially with the mess that the Tories have made. That would be rather naive to say the least. Labour have already said spending will be tight in the early years of their government, if elected.

Thats the thing. We have lived in this modest 3 bed semi for almost 30 years. When the kids were growing up we probably should have moved somewhere larger but we couldn't afford to and when we could afford to we didn't need the extra space and costs lol. Whatever extra cash we had went of giving the kids experiences - we had 2 holidays a year but that was only in a caravan in Bournemouth nothing fancy but that enabled us to experience different things too.

Their school friends had parents who did the life style creep thing and it always saddened me that they came from big houses with flashy cars on the drive and couldn't believe we had a fridge and freezer full of food. And we had no qualms about them having an ice lolly or a bag of crisps. Some people have strange priorities.
I envy you

We did the opposite tried for the bigger 4 bed detached the worst decision we ever made, rather stupidly paid the extras of Rates Electric Gas until there was hardly any money left to enjoy life.
Three children had a bedroom each so it works from an isolation point of view that’s about it.

Couldn‘t wait to get in a three bedroom small garden less work house after years of paying stamp duty, solicitors fees, estate agents fees, every time we moved the costs on moving house are huge.
We have the three bedrooms now to my relief back where we started the hunt for bigger and better and have more money to help the children and grandchildren

How come these fuckers always put it on us to help out the big corporations??

They seriously expect me to hold it in, just so the Water Companies shareholders can carry on receiving dividends?

It's the same with everything! I have to buy energy saving light bulbs to sort out Global Warming rather than the government putting through legislation to force housebuilders to include solar panels/heat pumps/minimum standards of insulation in new builds in case it reduces their donors profits?

The sooner they fuck off and we get a proper government in place the better.

The country is in a difficult place. I don't think the impact of Brexit is remotely the sole cause, but it hasn't helped.

Brexit was a vote to be poorer. People even acknowledged that at the time and said it was 'worth it'. But it's one thing to say it, another to face up to reality.

We are poorer as a country, for several different causes. We are not willing to accept it, so we are borrowing to get by. How long this can go on, I don't know.

The only way to improve matters is to invest in the right things. 1. How do you decide what are the 'right' things? 2. Where do you get the money? It's going to be a gamble.

We need a certain amount of immigration for economic reasons. However, getting the numbers right is tough, and it's a political hot potato. Immigrants are in danger of being the X group everyone blames for all the ills of the country. They are not, but the right will argue they are.

It's all very dangerous.

Fuck all to do with Tory cuts meaning councils couldn't afford to dredge then..?
Correct.

UU installed a storm trap near us. Just stops solids getting into the nearest watercourse during downpours, but the foul water still gets in the watercourse and eventually in main rivers. (They take out the trapped solids every so often to go to the sewage works.)

Frankly, I would try not to add to what's going in the combined sewer during a storm.

The issue is whether privatisation means what people pay in water and sewage rates is going to profits rather than toward the billions needed to get rid of combined systems.

They are fucking horrible to a man/woman.
Every interview you see from one of their members serves as a timely reminder that the only people who would vote for them are other fucking horrible people because no right minded person can listen to their shite and think to themselves, yeah that’s the way to go.
Cunts.
