This for me is where Hoyle (or whoever is in the chair) needs to step in and say to Sunak "I don't believe you have addressed the question asked, therefore please answer, not divert.I'd love politicians to answer the actual question but they all seem to have been on a question deflection master course. And that's all politicians not just Tories.

Even if they wanted them, the military would need massive investment to accommodate any form of conscription. It would be infinitely cheaper to keep them on benefits.Is there anything to suggest the military would want such conscripts?

I cannot remember what year it was when cameras were first allowed in the HoC to witness the goings on, but there was so much uproar from the politicins not wanting that level of intrusion.Parliament and the way they all act is a total embarassment. Why are terrible politicians given any sort of platitudes when they retire? If they aren’t going to be held accountable by the system, at the very least they need to be shamed out of polite society.
There are far worse out there than May. She was the last statesperson PM.
She was nowhere near perfect, but she had a sense of decorum, at least.

But her and Cameron were instrumental in creating the mess we see now. Just because her successor were way worse should not give her any sort of pass but instead an even more stern indictment to her poor leadership. This type of willful ignorance is why it’s so hard to hold these people accountable.
