Wouldn't that mean having grown ups as candidates rather than the crowing, preening deranged gerbils we currently have to tolerate. I'm not saying Labour will be as bad assuming they form the next government, but the current mob are beyond pathetic.

But I'm reading that a lot are citing mental health, what ever happened to the hard working British, we use to be one of the best in the world!?
The issue I have with this is that the middle earners like me are being squeezed more and more and footing the bill for some of these bone idle lazy sods.
I really hope what ever government comes in sorts this out as its an utter disgrace.

The middle classes are being squeezed to pay this. But that's only because the government have done fuck all to ensure that the properly wealthy pay their fair share. The government is skint and at the same time, we've seen the biggest ever transfer of wealth to the super rich. That's the problem, not people claiming benefits.

Not saying that 4 million out of work is a good thing, just that it's not the reason your taxes are going up.

Having said all that, how is anyone getting signed off work with mental health problems when this government were telling severely disabled people they needed to look for work a few years ago? And bringing in amputees for a check every year to make sure their limbs hadn't grown back? And using private companies with non-medically-trained staff to do the assessments? It seems like they have become a bit more lax in recent years, and call me cynical, but it's quite an effective way of massaging the unemployment figures.

It's also quite funny to see the Tories literally failing on every issue that the right wing care about. Immigration? Fucked. Criminal justice? Fucked. The economy? Fucked. And now 'benefit scroungers' at record levels too.

The other thing is even socialists like me could see it so I played their game hence I own my own home outright - very Thatcherite I know - always took jobs that offered workplace DB pensions coz I could see the lie of the land and so have retired on a just about capable pension income. After nearly 3 years I don't care about work - the problems we face are theirs and I am never going to help them out of their hole
