The Conservative Party

Quite telling that the two main Tories on here have kept out of the thread for a while whilst story after story of incompetence and scandal and all round terrible governance, yet leap in to defend an April Fools joke that some have fell for.

Shameless. But then I suppose you have to be to still support this lot.

Yet if it were HMS Charlie 3, you’d be stroking your pole over it.

Semantics, hey?

How do you know he won’t be stroking his Latvian?

I think the point he is making that anyone who thinks HMS Princess Diana was a legitimate name was a little misguided. @Vic probably summed it up best by saying no matter how bat shit crazy the announcement that wouldn’t immediately have him thinking “that can’t be right”. I can’t really argue with that.

I’d be very happy with new investment in our armed services. TBH it’s the one area the tories are still more trusted on so if I was Sunak it’s what I would focus on if I wanted a boxers chance at next election.

I get it, it was an April fools joke. Barring the ship name, the rest was more than plausible though.

I also get the gentle ribbing of them too, but to carry it on today seems a bit “Dan Wooton-esque”.
