Grown up politics is not about Charisma - thats what they don't get. Its the same with the Biden/Trump comparison in the USA. In the end during very tough times a quiet professional will just do more with better outcomes than the toddler having a strop in the corner but not actually doing anything

Not sure the example you’ve given is especially effective as Biden has far more charisma than Trump. Assuming you’re not clinically insane.

probably wasn't clear enough - certain politicians attract certain types of people because of "charisma" - by that they mean they like their guy because he has charisma and what they really mean he says things that chimes with their own prejudicial and hurtful views. Their man such as Trump and here Johnson sees how he profits from that and so goes lower and they lap it up and go lower with him. They think thats charisma. I'd even lump Mayday in with Biden and Starmer - not flashy in fact painfully awkward when they tried flash ( dancing was not her strong suit ) but they all want to govern in a normal political manner - I may not agree with everything they say / do but I'd rather have someone who tries to govern and can debate than someone who's idea of governing is having a strop and leaving the room dropping a grenade on the way out.

Gordon Brown was a 'grown up politician'.
I didn't agree with everything he said but he understood the nuances and machinations of parliament and legislation to get shit done.
If we had more boring cunts on all sides of the house we'd all be better off over the ones who are there to create soundbites for the media and their own brand.
