What's the point of defence spending if its not for supporting Ukraine. Most of our peace time defence budget is just lost to wages for zero return. Or equipment that never sees conflict. The Ukraine conflict is far better value for money.

I suspect Shapps' lie is not unrelated to the Chinese hacking of MoD payroll data.

I note thats another thing outsourced - is there anywhere the privatisation / outsourcing of things has worked well? What was wrong with the Army Pay Corps?
