It shouldn't come at the expense of our own capability though. I've read today that we're sending our last artillery to Ukraine soon so essentially the UK will be left with zero artillery capability. Add in the one posted today where we've reduced our heavy lift capability which would be extremely important in any future conflict.
Let's face it Ukraine is not going to win the war with Russia, the end result will probably be some long stalemate followed by a negotiation where Ukraine cedes some territory. None of us like or want this but that's the reality of what Putin is bringing upon Ukraine and Russia is gearing to sustain that war.
It is however for the Ukraine government to draw a line in the sand on that so do we otherwise just keep arming them in the meantime? If yes then let's hope that bet pays off but if not then surely total war is the only other option so don't we need to be capable of defending ourselves?
