The Conservative Party

We vote for a local constituency MP and party, no a PM or president.

Didn’t hear a peep from a labour supporter calling for an election when Brown took over.
They were plenty of voices in the party saying he should call an election, and he should have (even without hindsight). But in any case in the 2005 election the Tories actually campaigned on "vote Blair get Brown" so it wasn't a total surprise for the electorate.

The game changer is the five year Parliaments, whereby a new PM cannot simply call an election. Big question now is whether enough Tory MPs would jump ship if Boris became PM and went for No Deal... enough to lose a no confidence vote?

Doubt they will jump in numbers maybe a handful - more likely they stay and shaft him at every vote as they have with May. Slightly different allegiances in play but numbers roughly the same. Net result he gets nothing done - every bill gets amended and he fails to deliver brexit. HoC step in a rule out No Deal. Has to ask for an extension - back round we go.

The Tory Party is dead unless it delivers Brexit.
The Labour party is in the shit too. Choose Leave and 40% of it's voters will desert it (as well as a stack of activists), choose Remain and 30% of it's voters desert to Nigel.
Personally I wont be too sad to see the back of either.

Feel a bit sorry for May.She was/is useless, but she is obviously very patriotic and she obviously acted in a way that she thought was of benefit to our country.

The reality is,she was well out of her depth and should never have been Prime Minister.

Her list of replacements is equally as scary.

I wouldn't call anything she has done either as home secrrtary or PM as patriotic.

Pathetic maybe but being part of a government and leading a government that has consitently fucked over the nations in our union and the people living here (never mind the amount that have died through governmemt policy), that isn't my definition of a patriot

Yep.

I get the idea the French are a bit pissed off with us though and will be looking to get this sorted.

May was put in power to take the hit knowing she couldn't deliver Brexit, they then put their prodigal son in charge and rely on everyone being sick of Brexit and let him leave with no deal.

I think she was well intentioned in her desire to try and deliver a Brexit of some description that she thought might work but ended up pleasing nobody.
Give over mate.
This was the Withdrawal Agreement she couldn't get through, not the final Brexit deal. It was supposed to be the easy bit. Her biggest mistake ( among many others) was agreeing to the backstop in December 2017 and for it to form part of the WA. She didn't have to agree to this but she wanted a small tactical victory at the time to move the talks forward and so she gave away a massive concession.Geoffrey Cox in his speech to HOC stated that in his legal opinion it was not legally sound for the WA to incorporate the backstop because this was a future arrangement whereas the WA legally could only deal with the past, even DD said as much. She could have argued this and might have won because the EU are sticklers for doing things the correct legal way, it could have made all the difference but she never even tried and her WA was doomed from then onwards.
As I said this was not the final deal she couldn't deliver it was the easy bit, the WA, that back in the day everybody thought was a given.

Tory Kueensberg getting a kicking on Twitter for her sycophantic display on BBC Politics.

The same issue for them though (the EU not france) - they dont want to be in a position where they dictate the outcome. If they force us in or out then it is used against them by the EU bashers - either way. They will let this run as long as possible so as to ensure there is categorically no doubt that we f*cked this up and they were un involved. But ultimatley they will at some point say final extension and unless you do otherwise then you are in/out delete as appropriate.

To all you Tory boys ( and girls) out there, worth remembering that your party has made this country a laughing stock and humiliated it on the international stage. They have trashed and debased our standing globally.
# Tories tearing the country apart again.

They don't care ..... never have and never will .... self serving bunch of twats funded by corporate business

The 2 party system is broken
Politics and this country has become a shambles.

Perhaps if the Labour Party provided some semblance of a credible alternative they may not have had the opportunity to make such a hash of things in the first place

Labour would have fucked up Brexit far worse but stay northern and blinkered.
