I’m more akin to its slightly more well-heeled neighbouring town, Newcastle-under-Lyme.A bit like Stoke then - somewhere in the middle.

I'm being a bit mischievous because I don't think any of Boris' fantasy will come to fruition anyway but in terms of movement of people in your example I reckon the technology and data sharing is pretty much there and if it means everyone needing a passport or other government ID to travel domestically I don't have an issue with it. I don't have a problem either about extra queues especially with flying out of Belfast Int where there's ALWAYS queues - what's another 15 mins on top.You buy your tickets through agents and airlines online, you check in online have no check in bags.
Where in that part do they check your passport?
At security and the departure gates not with bordr control.
I have never needed to go to customs or border control when flying domestically,
Also you are not at a border, you are in the UK and NI already and even if a passport check is done tou wouldn't get full on border checks just a photo ID check.
If full border/visa check were needed for domestic flights then expect queues
She writes with a bawdy coruscating wit, I like it.Another brilliantly scathing column from Marina Hyde

Stoke’s in the north ;-)
The Trent flows principally to the south of Stoke. I know this because there’s a garage near Junction 15 of the M6, south of the city, that I occasionally visit on my way back to Brum when visiting Stoke with work, where that river flows, although it’s pretty insignificant at that point. Is it bollocks the north ends on the northern bank of the trent
Stokes south of that

Just checked on google maps and my point remains.
Not saying that’s definitive, as the city is in (north) Staffordshire - Cannock, Stafford and Burton are definitely in the Midlands - but your point is far from a killer one :-)

I must have a day in the Midlands on the piss soon. An area I am completely unfamiliar with.

Rory has jumped ship...
‘It’s been a great privilege to serve Penrith and The Border for the last ten years, so it is with sadness that I am announcing that I will be standing down at the next election, and that I have also resigned from the Conservative Party.’ @RoryStewartUK
He's denied saying it. Is there any video evidence? You know, before jumping to conclusions and sending him to the gallows.Britain First is a slogan that was used by none other than Oswald Moseley FFS
What a Fucking idiot the MP for Darwen is, he is either thick or a echoing the cries of the BUF's blackshirts.
