The Conservative Party

The chancellor didn't say anything about not dealing with tax avoidance but the reality is you'll get a lot of larger companies employing tricks to avoid the same % share smaller companies face. Push them too hard and they will up sticks and move somewhere they can get away with it, and that can cost the country more than the tax lost through avoidance. It ain't right, it ain't going to change. In the meantime the government have to set the rules for everyone else.
why would it cost the country more if they upped sticks and left. These companies take money out of our economy not add money into it. Some other company would surely just take their place and that company would pay its tax.

I dont really care if Amazon upped sticks and left the UK as i know another UK based company would scale up and replace them veey veey quickly.

Need to go after the companies that dont pay any corporation tax or very little. We need to attract businesses to invest in the UK not scare them off. I run a small conpany, i have no issue paying my fair share of corproation tax as long as everyone else pays their fair share. A few years back our corp tax bill was over ten times that if Facebook in the UK. At the time they were just about to open a brand new purpose built 250000sf office in London. We employed 9 people at the time and could only dream of opening an office to accomodate 3 people in London. See where im coming from??

Not their way though is it? They talk a good game about entrepreneurs and SME's but in reality they would rather see big names coming in - taxation doesn't bother a cabinet who mostly have creative tax arrangements themselves.

In case you weren't aware the Tories provide aid to 3.8 million people across Yemen in the form of food vouchers (Because .......crack dens and brothels).

YCMIU even if you really really tried.
That was two years ago. They've just halved aid to Yemen.

Apparently on Peston in half an hour Stephen Barclay gets into a bit of a barney with Robert Peston as he denies freezing personal tax allowances won't make anyone worse off. Stephen Barclay is Chief Secretary to the Treasury ffs

Bully buys off claimant using our our money.

amazing - she broke the ministerial code and costs us £345k plus legal costs

Matt Hancock was found to have broken the actual law

Sturgeon is in a hearing to determine whether or not she broke the ministerial code and cost the country £65k

The Tories - Sturgeon must resign !!

£345,000 is the price to protect a bully.

At least we know the going rate now.

well bugger me I'd never have thought it - my next door neighbours son moved there 2 years ago - he will be disappointed to learn his 5 bedroom £700k period home is in fact just another crack den in the urban sprawl that is something like East LA - he thought he was going somewhere nice

two things to take from this.

1/ What would have come out in a ten day tribunal would have been humiliating not only for Patel but for the Party as a whole.

2/ Assuming rules were followed then this settlement had to pass a Value for Money Test. The fact they agreed this shows you the scale of the loss they were trying to avoid.

Let's hope some of his evidence mysteriously appears on the internet.

I bet the costs are even more than that sum and we are paying that too
Its good to know that we have ignored the NHS staff who worked their tits off saving lives and gave them a 1% pay rise whilst paying out fortunes to save a bully.

The RW media don't appear interested in the story and the Taxpayers Alliance have said fuck all.

It just typifies this squalid bunch of cunts in charge, they do think they are better than everyone else.

Watched Martin Lewis on ITV last night.

At the risk of repeating myself...

Fuck you Rishi.

Just put the final signature on the death warrant of thousands of small businesses.
