If that's what my TOC is telling them I'm owed some serious backpay.

Ferrari loves to bang on about Tube Train drivers being paid £1k pw like its an unskilled job which you can do with just a cycling proficiency test pass!! He gets £3k a show off LBC which works out at £1k per hour - if we are going to question who gives better value for money then for me Ferrari is the one who needs outing because he doesn't
 
I think time will slowly run out on many of these arguments because the public generally aren't stupid and will be sympathetic because we're all feeling it.

We all know there's a cost of living crisis and reliance on pay has never been more important. I don't like the idea of strikes but I'll support anyone who has to strike to get a payrise because at the moment it's critical. I've read of people who literally cannot afford to go to work which is just a completely ridiculous situation.

There's a rumble at our place because they've called us back into the office 2 days per week after 2 years working from home full time. I don't have a problem with going back in but at the start of 2020 diesel was £1.19 per litre, it's now £1.81, a 52% increase. So with my commute, physically going into work (despite I can work 100% fine from home) adds nearly £160pm to my bills.

The company negotiated a 3.5% pay rise with our union (they offered 2.5% at first until the union threatened action) but that was on the basis of many working from home who weren't impacted by increased fuel bills.. We're really hoping there will be movement on this soon in this years pay claim as it really does need to be addressed.
Conversely, a rail strike has less impact as most people are now geared for working at home.
 
You need a new agent. The DM are stating you earn far more.

I’m surprised we aren’t seeing some Championship footballers retiring early to become train drivers.

Train drivers arent on strike. ASLEF arent in dispute yet.
