The Conservative Party

What I don't get though, they must have a wealth of economists that know their stuff, to tell them how to get out of this shit show. They talk about reducing debt, fine just reverse everything you announced, and try your damndest to keep interest rates down. How fuck hard can it be, if even people on here have a better idea.

I agree.
Greece expected to be bailed out by richer countries along with newer members of the EU.
The UK is simply expecting the financial markets to adjust with almost indifference to consequences of its reasons therefore need to borrow.

I could understand having a low value pound if we had loads of opportunity to export. We don’t, we have red tape killing businesses. There is no money coming into the economy apart from what’s already here, it’s madness they are playing Russian roulette with our mortgages and pensions.

There is a tendency on here to lump all of the Conservatives together, perhaps understandably, but the party is in fact horribly fractured. You currently have a small group of right-wing ideologues in control who are intent on stripping down the size of the state and creating Singapore-on-the-Thames. At the same time, you have a larger group of emboldened backbenchers, some of whom are desperate to retain their seats, that are determined to slow down the government in its pursuit as they recognize it as electoral suicide. There are also those 2019 MPs who still believe that the state needn't be shrunk at all but instead used better to help level up the north and south, i.e. no cuts to their promised budgets. Truss simply has no hope of uniting those groups and will instead pander to each, which means rather than the much-promised growth she boasts of, it will be two more years of stagnation.

You are making a big mistake by assuming that they are rational people because they aren't. They surround themselves with far right wing economists like Gerard Lyons and Patrick Minford, who then try to tell them that there plan is not going to work. Then they just ignore what ever they tell them because they are welded to an ideology that they fantasized so much about they wrote books about and now they are living the dream by living out those dreams.

Baker - really worried about losing his seat isn't he? Suddenly finding his big boy Christian pants - unbelievable Jeff

At this rate we’ll see him on Westminster Green draped in an EU flag, arm in arm with Steve Bray.

He is facing up to the grim realisation that for him ze var ist over - his gravy train is losing steam fast and he will have to face ex-constituents in the queue at the food banks blaming him for being on the brink of losing their expensive homes

The Labour Party are launching a Blitz of attack ads on Twitter - all they consist of are snippets showing Tories speaking - this lot are so shite they are doing Labours work for them and wondering why they are 30pts down in the polls

Tories writing labours speeches for them

Their problem is do enough of this shit and Labour get a big enough majority to not only reverse all of it but double down.

I also think their biggest issue is that is they don't get this stuff through it can be weaponised and used against them as easily as it can be if they get it through. Their ideology cannot survive in the real world

Their biggest problem is that they're full of shit, we'll agree on that one ;)

Its all going to hell in a handcart - I am sure4 many of them want to lose and soon so they can try and distance themselves from the mess they have created

Well they can't blame local councils now for inefficient schools. The academy trusts are their baby, many run by their cronies.

That utter dodgy clown Lee Anderson claiming pensioners should be benefitted as 'they fought in the war'.

Doing some maths here.....
He's a thundercunt. Got asked a difficult question and started attacking the BBC rather than answer it.
